“One of the worst Hotels”

Pros:
Looks okay,

Cons:
6 am Train Whistles
Breakfast not included or free
The air in my room did not work we were not moved into another room until 10 pm
Outside pool area (the size of a common patio)
Exercise room consists of treadmills and water fountain
My room had trash from the previous guest, but after suffering without air conditioning, complaining to the front desk for hours, and only $25 deducted from bill I was just too tired to complain again
Location is terrible-- it is located in the 'hood'
The front desk could not properly charge card for the room, I reserved the room with a credit card online the day before. Upon arrival he wanted me to pay again and stated he could not see where I paid. So please have your confirmation number ready..

In all this was a terrible stay. My kids were afraid when we went to try to find somewhere in the neighborhood to eat for dinner. All of the area businesses had bars and locks on the windows and doors. Please pay the extra amount and stay somewhere else.

We arrived around 1:30 a.m. At check in As stated by the reception desk "we have a waterfall in the lobby, bring a bucket". There was water pouring from upstairs into the lobby.

The staff was very polite and helpful. I asked for extra blankets and received them quickly.

The room we had was clean but clearly needed to be updated. Not furnishing wise but room wise.

Interesting hotel, super close to airport. Very ordinary, nothing special, but clean. Hotel was a little noisy, but not too bad. Felt much safer than the nearest hotels - they were plain scary. Overall, decent experience.

This was one of the worst hotels that I've ever stayed at. Other than the staff, which was very friendly, there was nothing good to say about my stay. The hotel location is not safe; you cannot go out after dark and I wouldn't walk around that area during the day either. Vagrants were all walking all over the streets. The outside of the hotel looks fairly nice, as well as the lobby. But nice ends there. The carpets in the hallways are filthy and badly stained. The same goes for the walls and doors. Our room had dirty carpet, the door was badly scratched up, the door would not lock, the walls were in terrible shape, the air conditioner had to be put all the way down to 60 degrees in order to work and the ceiling was badly stained. In addition, the toilet sounded like it was going to explode when flushed, probably because the tank top that was on it only partially covered the tank and wasn't made for that model. I felt gross sleeping in that room and I don't recommend this place to anyone. This was supposed to be a 3 star hotel and I paid a lot of money for a horrible experience. It is a disgrace to the city to have such a dump right on the road leading to Birmingham's airport.

We stayed in this hotel on Friday June 12. We were in town to see Garth Brooks. Check in was a hassle. Check in is 3:00 - and they mean that. We tried to check in at 2:45 and were told there were no rooms available. We got back in line at 3 and surprise! There was a room available! Strangest check in experience ever but the girls behind the counter handled it well. Reminded me of the end of Meet The Parents when Ben Stiller was the only one trying to board the plane and the Gate Agent told him he had to wait til his section was called....
Anyway, parking was plentiful - and FREE. We didn't bother to access the internet, but were given a code at check in. Room was very clean and had a refrigerator. Water pressure was great but the tub did not drain so that's always gross when you have water up around your ankles for the duration of a shower.
There's not much around there in the way of food. We drove uptown near the civic center and found a section of good restaurants though they were all completely understaffed for the amount of people looking for pre-concert food and drinks. If you are here for an event, GO EARLY. Our concert started at 7 and we were uptown by 4. Given that all of this is across the street from the civic center, EVERYONE had the same idea! But it seemed like we were about an hour late for what we wanted. I also saw that the hotel offered a free shuttle there, so if looking to not drive, this would be your best bet.
Anyway, the hotel served the purpose and we have no major complaints other than tub drainage and check in.

We arrived early in the morning and they let us go ahead and check in at no extra charge. The front desk told us about their breakfast buffet which was wonderful, and reasonably priced. The room was clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay again.

Hotel is very close to the airport. Shuttle service was pleasant and easy. Room and staff were nice. Breakfast was not. The "breakfast buffet" they offer for $7.95 is not much different than that offered for free at many hotels. Unfortunately there aren't many other options because the surrounding are is let's just say "a little rough".
