We went for Sunday brunch last weekend. I would have ranked it 5 out of 5 except for the terrible hostess. The food was beyond good and our server was very attentive even though he had quite a few tables all seated at the same time. We started with the biscuits and strawberry jelly, which was not my choice since you can get that anywhere, but these were really excellent. Also had the deviled eggs, the filling was so creamy and smooth. Both of us chose the shrimp and grits for our main dish. This was really the best shrimp and grits I've ever had and I've had a lot. Now for the negative....we got there at 10:55 (5 minutes before our 11 reservation) there was already another couple waiting at the desk. No one greeted either couple until 5 after 11, but several staff walked by us several times and just looked at us. The hostess finally came up, no greeting from her, she just said we are still trying to get open it will be a few more minutes, you should just go to the bar. So we went to the bar. We sat there for quite awhile longer watching her begin to seat the guests that were coming into the restaurant, totally forgetting about the 4 of us at the bar. Finally my friend went back to her and asked about seating us. She told us it would be a few more minutes. Finally she came to get us and took us up stairs. She wanted to seat us at a table beside a huge loud party, my friend asked if we could have a table in a quieter location and she said no all tables are reserved. Luckily the manager heard her and quickly seated us at one of the 10 open tables in a quieter section. And one other thing to point out, we ordered coffee while we were waiting at the bar, when the hostess came to seat us, she never offered to help us get the coffee upstairs, which may seem petty, but we are talking about coffee cups, saucers, and the coffee pot. In a restaurant of this quality, I would expect some help with this.
