“Great Pancakes”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2014

Visited the Original Pancake House on a Sunday morning. Was a little worried about what the crowds might be like so got there at 9 am. Parking on the street was no problem. Was seated immediately. Fast service. The pancakes are tremendous, but there was no way I was going to eat a full serving so I went with the half stack. If you want to take home left-overs get the full stack. I had the pecan pancakes are they were wonderful. Coffee was good, service was a little slow on the refills but not bad. Had a seat by the front window, so was able to see lots of people walk by. Price was reasonable, amount of food was huge. Would definitely recommend.

“Pancakes, omelets, waffles, and sides, Oh my!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2014

How do you want your pancake or waffle? Plain, nutty, fruity, with or without eggs or other accompaniments (sausage, bacon, grits, ham, and so on), if you can think of it, they can make it. Usual coffee, tea, juices, milk, and other beverages available.

Be prepared to wait for a table on weekends. People-watching at 5 Points South is a good pass-time. Service is efficient once you are seated. Folks come from all over to eat here, but it is worth it! We like to go there after we do a 5K in the area (we walk/run to eat!).

“Great!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2014

Food and price were excellent! Husband had dirty a napkin but everything else was great. Loved the paintings on the walls and the big windows to watch the crowds go by. Great for the people watching type of person.

“Great Breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2014

Open 7 days and always have pancakes. Their omelets are huge. Top quality ingredients. Good bacon and ham. Come early and expect a wait. This is a breakfast place, no atmosphere, just good breakfast. Nice servers always treat you well even though they are crazy busy.

“A little disappointed”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2014

We love the Original Pancake House in our hometown of South Bend, IN, and we were pretty excited to find this one. Normally, we bypass the German Pancake, because it takes 15-20 minutes for those to be prepared. This time, we weren't rushed, so we both ordered the 'Dutch Baby,' a smaller version of the normally BIG German. After a short wait, our meals arrived. I admit it's been awhile since I had one but this didn't seem to be what I used to have! It's hard to describe, but this looked more as if they'd just rolled some crepes together, not poured the batter into a hot skillet to bake. The taste was ok...but just didn't have the flavor I'd expected. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't BAD, it just wasn't as good as what I remember.
