We've been on the road for 13 days, stayed in several 'choice' hotel brands in Kansas, Missouri, Tennessee, South Carolina and Alabama. This was without a doubt the worst one.
The room was very clean, so no problems there. The bathroom wreaked of bleach... But it was certainly clean. The elevator smelled like someone had been smoking in it, and just stepped out before we entered.
The building structure is one problem.
The walls and floors are super thin. You can hear people walking!! on the floor above you, and it sounds like buffalo. It looked like someone had tried to kick the door in at some point in the past, there was dents, marks and scrapes on the outside door, and the door frame was cracked around where the safety latch was attached.
When we checked in, they apparently booked us in one room, then gave us keys to a different room - then later accused us of not being registered at the hotel, then registered but in the wrong room. It was the screw up of the front desk in the end - not anything to do with us - we just went in the room we were told, and the one our key card opened.
But no apology. This was the least friendly hotel of the entire trip.
The "highspeed" internet, (not wireless!) kept resetting, so every 10 or 15 minutes I had to re accept the acceptable use policy.
Frankly I wouldn't recommend this for my dog.
