Owner description: Four young girls were killed when a Ku Klux Klan bomb exploded in this church in 1963. The girls are remembered with a shrine in the crypt where they died, and a vibrant stained glass window donated in sympathy by the people of Wales adorns the historic church.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2012

The Civil Right Institute staff sent us over.
They told us to enter thru the white door on the bottom of the church to see if the guided tour is available.

The tour lasts 45 minutes depends on the guide and including a film.

“Welcome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2012

We decided to go to this church because of its history. We arrived for Sunday Service, and we're greeted by the congregation like we were old friends. Loved the Choir, the pastor and the message.

“Civil Rights Ed”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2012

This trip was really cool. I learned a lot about the 16th street church bombing and the civil rights movement that I hadn't heard before.
