“Great value and super staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

Visited Yangshuo in January, the off season. Very reasonable price per night (RMB80). Incredibly helpful staff: Annie, Angela and Lisa all went out of their way to make our four-night stay enjoyable. They arranged a bamboo boat tour (RMB100) and also provided reliable and comfortable transportation to Guilin airport.

Be careful to distinguish this location from its pricier sister, the Bamboo House Inn/Resort. The latter has a large, wooden facade that looks onto a major road in Yangshuo, whereas this place is down an alleyway near the end of a street. Look for the red and yellow sign (shown in another reviewer's photos).

Room Tip: We got a room that was on the third floor, away from the alley. No view to speak of. No problems wit...

Bamboo house was a great stay for our family. Super folks. Breakfast and dinner available in house. Very good price for time of year we were there. No elevators. 5 stories. If you travel light this an excellent place in the city and if area a hiker this hotel is also perfect for you.

Located in the heart of the shopping area and tourist area. River a short walk.

Room Tip: First for the folks that want see this an FYI. We traveled from Xiamen to Guilin by plane and than...

I have bee n to over 20 different hotels in china. What all of them have in common is that see ice from staff was pretty much nonexistent. I would be lucky if they can speak few words do English. Forget about getting any helpful info. Well, bamboo house staff was anything but. All 3 ladies that worked the front desk were awesome. Great command of English, knowledgeable, and always helpful. They helped me book tickets, transport, and even walked me to the light show and saw me off to my van pick up when I left. The staff here should be the envy of every hotel in china. Can't go wrong here!

We arrived on Saturday 2nd June and had a wonderful 6 days stay at the Bamboo House.... The staff could not have been more helpful.... Full of smiles and very useful information for our stay...
The rooms were out of this world ....The beds very comfortable too... All the rooms had varying size Jacuzzi's depending on price paid... The food was excellent, with full menu
We booked most of our trips through the hotel for convenience.... The main area of Yangshuo is not to far away but far enough so you can't hear it....
Will certainly stay here again when we go back....

Very central hotel with excellent value rooms. The beds were so comfortable and the bathroom had bath, shower and western toilet. Plenty of hot water and clean towels. Loved the room decor and the little balcony. Very helpful staff booked trips and transport for us. The breakfast menu had fresh squeezed juice and homemade bread with yoghurt and muesli. A very comfortable, clean and quiet hotel where speaking English only was not a barrier at all.

Our family spent two weeks travelling in China and this was by far the best hotel we stayed at. The price was incredible value for money. We had a large room ( Two double beds and a single) for 5 nights ( 150 AUS total). The staff here are very friendly and spoke excellent English. They organised flight tickets, airport transfers, tours, laundry and walked us to the bus stop/ ATM. They also provided maps and suggestions on good bike rides(Bikes for hire only 20 Yuan). The location was right of west street ( A main shopping/ dinning street) however we had virtually no street noise in the room. They served western style breakfasts ( the banana bread is superb). Also free Wifi and AC in the rooms.
the room was clean and well decorated and the bathroom had a full sized bath tub.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would recommend to all :)

Having arrived in Yangshuo early in the morning, we stopped in to the Bamboo House Resort. The western style breakfast was excellent, with freshly ground coffee and fresh squeezed OJ. The rates at the resort were a little above what we wanted to spend and the staff told us they had two sister properties, a hostel and a hotel. They kindly walked us (quite close) over to the Bamboo House Hotel to look at the rooms that run from 100-150 Yuan. We liked what we saw and decided to stay. We spent two good nights. The staff is very friendly and speaks excellent English. They have wi-fi and computers in the lobby, the beds were comfy and the shower excellent. He breakfast at the hotel was just as good as at the resort. We can highly recommend the fresh baked banana bread. We did laundry and were very happy with the results. The Hotel is located near the river and is central to everything in town. They have bikes to rent for riding around the countryside and they can book tours and travel for you.
