“Everything and more”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2013

We were three couples and decided we needed some relief from Chinese food on our trip. We landed on May Day which is a national holiday in China. We called from our Groteluschen who had no clue about this place. It was 950 pm and the kitchen was about to close. We pleaded we will be there within minutes and the owner said we can order on the phone and will have dinner ready when we walked in. West street was absolutely overflowing and we could not find the place. We asked another restaurant to call the owner who walked over and picked us up and now it was past 1015pm. We were impressed with the service.

The food was excellent especially as most of our group was vegetarian. We had succulent alu gobi, planner makhanwalla tadka dal and the breads were outstanding.

We had great food terrific hospitality and the only thing to improve on was their kulfi which has room for improvement.

Thank you for keeping the chef overtime and for a wonderful meal.

“Amazing Indian”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2013

Very pleasant atmosphere with excellent service. The staff all spoke fantastic English and the menu is the best I've seen, with a great range of dishes (including a wide selection of vegetarian). The food was without exception brilliant, and each curry could be made to different spice levels to meet preferences. We even got some extra to takeaway.

“Very good indeed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2013

We went there three times during our visit to Yangshuo. After expensive Indian restaurants in Shanghai, this comes as a surprise in both price and quality.
Tried different dishes all three times and were not disappointed. Samosas were very good. Both daals on the menu were exceptional (these are simple dishes, which many restaurants screw up). Daals are my favorites at Indian restaurants and I always try them. Other dishes were good as well.
The restaurant is a bit difficult to find though. It is not on the busy market street as someone suggested, it is rather on a restaurant only street. Try to follow the smaller stream, which runs somewhat in parallel to the West street, then look in the opposite direction from the West street at the second bridge (away from the pier). Our photos are taken approaching the restaurant from the other direction.

“Good Indian food in China? Really!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2013

OK, so I didn't try everything on the menu, and it wasn't the kind of Indian food I've had in London or the Bay Area, but for China, it was quite good. Fresh ingredients, fresh taste, and a hoot to watch my Chinese friend taste Indian for the first time.
Loved the service too - whoever helped us spoke perfect English. Note: you will pay more for the food here - but alas, they have to import the spices and the chef!

“I can never get enough of the food here!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

Back in China and Yangshuo again and I always head straight to Kali Mirch. The food is always great and the staff are friendly and helpful with their suggestions. It's good to know that you can always return here when so many other restaurants close down so quickly. A well deserved number one on trip advisor. Thank you Kali Mirch for staying constant in a changing China!
