We LOVE this place and go at least once every time we're in the Colchagua Valley. Regrettably, Rayuela is now only open from 12:00 to 17:00 rather than in the magical evening as it was when we first went, but the food is still just as wonderful.
Dining is inside or outside, with a view of the equestrian training grounds and the vineyards. The Viu Manent wines are world class, the food is great and the setting is entirely pleasant. Take a late lunch or early supper and relax here. The full menu also includes nice salads, typical Chilean parilla (wonderful smoky barbecued meats), and fantastic deserts.
After your meal, you're free to take a stroll in the well tended vineyards of this great winery. You can also tour the winery, on a horse drawn wagon, with stops along the way, including tastings at various stages in the process of making wine. A great learning experience! And for a really fun experience for the horse lover(s) in your party, book ahead with Rodrigo at the stables (ask your innkeeper) and take a leisurely 1-2 hour ride through the vineyard on some of the best horses you will ever find!
BTW, if you're earlier or later than the restaurant hours but hungry anyway, there's also a cafe next door with limited menu.
We especially like the fact that the Viu Manent wines in the restaurant are priced BELOW what you can buy them for, even in local stores. Enjoy a bottle of Grand Reserve or Secreto for a pittance. You're in for a treat! Every winery should treat their customers and potential customers so well!
