“Beautiful rooms, surroundings and great staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 5, 2010

Hotel TerraVina is a beautiful new posada just outside Santa Cruz, Chile and in the heart of the Colchagua wine country. My husband and I stayed for two nights and had a wonderful time. The owners are kind and willing to help set up tours or answer any questions. The rooms are beautiful with great little balconies overlooking the vineyard. The pool lovely. We have traveled throughout the Mendoza, Argentina area but at the last minute decided to try Chile's wine country instead this year. We enjoyed it very much and will surely be back, thanks in large part to Hotel TerraVina!

This is a new hotel that just opened in 2010. It is located outside of Santa Cruz next to the Laura Hartwig winery. We chose this hotel on the basis of reviews and the fact that the owner is English. The rooms are large, bright and airy with crisp white linens and very comfortable beds. The breakfast is good and substantial and they serve real brewed coffee in little bodum pots!
The owner was very helpful in arranging bike rentals, tours and restaurants. The Vina Bella restaurant is a short walk through the vineyards and is excellent.

We stayed here in September after having a bad experience with another local property. This hotel is excellent, the family that own it could not be more helpful, giving useful information on all the local tours and excursions and they are more than happy to arrange whatever you are interested in. The hotel itself is new and clean, there are approximately 20 rooms with their own balconies, all neatly presented and we heard no noise from other guests throughout our stay. The breakfast is buffet style and has a large selection and the service is quick and friendly. In the evenings there is a patio area where you can enjoy a glass/bottle of wine and meet some of the other guests, there is also an Italian restaurant about 500 yards away that serves excellent food.
We really enjoyed our stay here, can't think of anything that needs to be improved, overall this place really is a quality place to stay in the wine region.

Set literally in a vineyard about 3km out of town off Barreales in Camoino Los Boldos.
New in 2010, well equipped, friendly, English speaking and very helpful. On 2 stories, no lift. Good views from all rooms. Unheated outdoor swimming pool. Will organise wine tours. You do need your own transport though.
We were very happy with the choice

What a great find! Terravina is a brand new hotel just outside of the town of Santa Cruz and close to all of the wineries in the area. They opened a month before the earthquake hit(!) but the building is totally fine.

Anna and Eduardo are great hosts - they'll call ahead to wineries to make appointments and give great dining suggestions. Anna speaks English also

The rooms are very spacious and clean with flat panel TV (though with limited selection of channels) and a small deck to look over the vineyard. Get a room on the 2nd floor and towards the far end of the hotel for maximum privacy and silence.

The breakfast is pretty good (it's continental). There's Wifi access in the lobby (shared authentication/WEP, just in case you need to manually configure your computer) although they say they're going to work on getting Wifi in the rooms.

And when you stay, say hello to Rocco, their dog who is friendly and sweet!

The recently opened Hotel TerraVina is simply delightful. Set in a vineyard with beautiful mountains on the horizon, it is a newly built (and robustly so, it suffered minimal damage in the earthquake) traditional building with a lovely courtyard and pool. Anne and Eduardo are impeccable hosts, arranging vineyard tours, restaurants recommendations and reservations, rental cars, and bountiful breakfasts. We're looking forward to going back for a longer stay!

Stayed in this hotel for three days. First we only planned on staying for two days, but we didn't want to leave (and you won't either) so we added an extra day. Great location in the middle of a vinyard, with a view to the Andes mountains on one side and the hilly landscape on the other. The whole place (which is brand new) oozes quality, tastefully decorated and good service. Can recommend this hotel to an yone who want's to spend some time in a tasteful, relaxed environment.
