I stayed at the Lodge for several nights in June 2007. The hotel is owned and run by a wonderful young Chilean couple who live on the property. The Lodge is small with only about 5-7 rooms, a pool, and great views of the mountains. I thought the Lodge was great except for its location and lack of heat in the rooms. I expected that for the price, there would be heat in the rooms. You can request a space heater if you need it and the beds have wonderful down comforters. The Lodge is about a 10 minute walk from central San Pedro de Atacama. This was definitely not a problem during the day, but I was traveling alone and the road to the Lodge was very dark at night. Definitely bring a headlamp if you are traveling to San Pedro de Atacama! I felt perfectly safe in town, but there was just something eerie about walking down the dark desolate streets. Alvaro, one of the owners, also leads expeditions to the different sights around San Pedro.
