“Dreadful”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2014

Tiny double room so tightly packed we could hardly move and a small electric shower which dribbled Luke-warm water. We didn't try the breakfasts as there is an abundance of good cafés elsewhere. Neither did we use the pool choosing to go to the nearby 25m pool at the Victory Club. Guess it would be fine as a last resort but book ahead and go somewhere else

Twelve dollars a night for a super clean room with two beds, nice bathroom, hot water, rooftop deck with view of the river and refreshing, if small, swimming pool.

The fitness center - if you can call it that - is a hoot - full of odd Cambodian exercise machines.

This is THE place to stay in Battambang.

Good location, they offered a free pickup from the boat jetty, that we did not know, so we just walked to the hotel, as it was not far.
We stayed 2 nights and had to change the room, due some repairs going on, however the staff nearly forgot to tell us about that. They only accept cash at payment, and they did not want to accept any of our 2 50$ bills first, as one had some marks, the other was a bit damaged, only accepted them after a bit of negotiation..

Stayed on a recommendation from a friend in Siem Reap! Absolutely beautiful place, with a 6th flower terrace overlooking the city. Staff was helpful! If you need a driver for tours, Mr. Kim is your man! Funny fellow with tons of knowledge of the city! Room and bathroom spotlessly clean! Would absolutely recommend and I will be back soon!

We had the pleasure of meeting the owner and his wife when he invited us and other guests of his hotel to a function he was having for graduating students from the school they run at the rear of the hotel.
Students from the school are trained in all manner of tasks relating to the hospitality and hotel industry. Student are given training in English as well as other skills such as maids, cooks, management, tourism etc. depending on ability and work ethic. Graduates once they are fully trained and competent in there roles are then moved on to other hotels, resorts etc. The owner runs this training facilitate for under privileged kids out of his own pocket. Many Fat Cat NGO's could take a leaf of this guys book,on how to help the Khmer people, he started with nothing but now gives plenty back to his community
We (eight People from Australia) stayed at the Seng Hout Hotel in 2013,the hotel is situated 50 meters from Psar Nat Market. Not far from the river and Wat Peapahd Temple, the hotel has a restaurant and air-conditioned rooms with free WI-Fi. Hotel Seng Hout also has a tour desk and car rental services.
Rooms at Seng Hout are equipped with a cable TV and refrigerator. A work desk and telephone are also provided. Private bathrooms have hot and cold shower facilities.
The pool and rooftop terrace, which offers beautiful 360º sunset views was a huge bonus and we spent many hours cooking on the BBQ and imbibing in a cold ale or two with eskys "container filled with ice" provide by the owner of the hotel. These eskys were also provided for our many tours around Battambang and surrounding ares
Be patient with the staff and understand why things may not run as smoothly as you would expect. In saying that we found the staff competent, charming very friendly and accommodating. The tuk tuk drivers at the front of the hotel are very good and will not rip you off. As for the owner keep up the good work you are a credit to your people the human race, well done mate

Room Tip: Rooms near the pool can be a bit noisy at times

My friends and I got a Family Room for 2 nights at the Seng Hout. We had a free tuk tuk pick up from the bus station which was nice but a little pointless as the hotel is only 10 mins walk away and we had trouble locating the driver so we were harrassed (as usual in Asia) until he showed up. The hotel itself is really quite nice, our room was clean and comfortable, around the corner away from other rooms with our own little balcony. The wifi was touchy, the location was great. The staff however were pretty uninterested. The room wasnt ready for us at 3pm, they didnt suggest anywhere for us to go or how long it would take. When we checked in they just handed us the key not explaining the wifi password or where the room was. We ended up buying a bus ticket through them and they just left us to figure out where and when to get the bus, it wasn't that hard but a little effort would have been a nice touch.

Room Tip: Try and get a room with a balcony. If you get the tuk tuk to pick you up make sure your both clear o...

We have just stayed for 4 nights at this hotel. We chose a VIP room which is 20$ for 4 nights more than a standard room and the room was bigger and much brighter. The room had really nice old colonial furniture and tea and coffee facilities. The hotel is exceptionally clean and the staff work hard. They are very friendly and helpful. I met the owner and his wife who also seem to play a hands on role and they were chatty and very pleasant. The hotel has a good swimming pool and although it is in the shade once in the water you soon get warm. Swimming lengths is very pleasant. At the end of each floor is a seating area with large potted plants, tables and chairs which is very restful and beautiful. It is extremely good value for the price. The bagette and fruit platter for breakfast is lovely. On our last morning when we were leaving early the staff prepared a full breakfast for us with out us even asking.. Thank you.
John and Christine Manchester UK.
