Good central location in town, 5 min walk to jetty for boats. or for a cocktail at Min Min or Viewpoint. Definitely spring for the superior room, we switched from a standard which was tiny.
Noise outside not actually that bad compared to other towns. Staff very helpful. Breakfast usual fodder, plenty of it. If you have to stay in town then this is probably the best bet, we could not get on the lake. Clean rooms and adorable towels with little teddy bears on them

Room Tip: spring for a superior room, larger

Great location near the centre of town, so everything is a short walk away - including a few nice places to eat (don't go to the hotel restaurant, it's a bit dull).

Huge clean bedroom, with decently firm beds. The noise from outside was quite unhelpful if you wanted to sleep past 5am !

Enormous bathroom. The shower section was wet room style - but it was so big, that the water stayed in the shower area. The bedroom & bathroom were a little tired looking - but it's fun to step back 30 years every now and again !

Breakfast was the usual egg and toast offering - quite pleasant.

Wifi was available in the communal areas, and sometimes stretched into the bedrooms. It was the usual slow Myanmar speeds, but just about usable.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room if you want to sleep past 5am.

arrived at the hotel to be met by the staff playing music and giving us hot towels - very welcoming. the rooms are clean, large and I was very comfortable for the 3 nights we stayed there. There was quite a bit of local noise - cockerels and temple sounds but that's part of the charm.

As with so many visitors, our Explore group of 18 arrived in the evening to the staff playing gongs, and greeting us with cold towels and drinks. A most welcome greeting after a long journey from Yangon.

The Hu Pin was a good, mid-class three-story hotel serving the Inle Lake resort town. We stayed there 3 nights as part of our Burma holiday with Explore. The landing stage for boats down the canal to Inle Lake was a 5 minute walk through the back streets of the village. The hotel’s desk brochure states they can arrange travel, boats, cars, ticketing and other guided services.

Rooms have satellite TV, fridge, en-suite shower and air conditioning, and were clean and fairly spacious. The local restaurant is part of the hotel complex and serves good quality Shan food. After ordering one glass of local rum, the rum kept on being poured!

There are several good restaurants in the area. On the last night we had a fantastic Thai meal (soup and green Thai curry) at the Green Chilli that was recommended by our tour leader. Well worth the 10 minute walk from the hotel. Once you get near there are signposts!

It’s not 5 star luxury, but I would certainly recommend this hotel if exploring the Inle lake area. This was the best three nights of our holiday.

Room Tip: Try the different restaurants in the area, especially the Green Chilli.

Arriving after dark into the dusty non paved roads of Nyaung Shwe, imagine my surprise to be met by gongs and bells, clean cool towels and a drink, nice!.

The hotel is run by, what seems to be, a large local Chinese firm - Hupin, and so you can guess the influence on the hotel. The rooms, by western standards, are very basic, but the room was large (3 beds), fridge, basic tv, basic a/c, and 1950's style wardrobe (within which the ;in room safe' was a locking wooden drawer). The beds were clean and comfortable, the paint, er, simple... and the light switches hidden. Having searched we realised the beds were in the middle of the room and all the light switches were feet away under the curtains.

The bathroom was a huge wet room. Pipes showing and you had to walk past the wet floor to get to the loo. But again, it was v clean, constant hot water and the soft fluffy towels were replaced each day (nice Hello Kitty ones at that!)

Food was ok, if you like eggs... but recommend the not eating at the hotels Chinese style 'canteen' across the road but instead the Green Chilli restaurant by the hospital.

The hotel is very convenient for the centre of town, but also has a good boat dock to the lake, is on the monks early morning alms walk and is right by a good bar.

On departure you're waved off by the friendly staff.... so all in all, its v simple in décor and style, taste and modernities, but is clean, friendly, hot water'd and central... is one of the better hotels stayed in in Myanmar!

Now, where's the torch....

Well situated in the middle of this dusty little `frontier` town, with friendly helpful staff. Small but adequate room but bathroom too small in that the shower soaks everything in there. Average breakfast with good spicy omelettes. No fridge but they let us use the dining room one. Food average, use the town restaurants. Lin Htett does great simple mutton and fish curries with tea leaf or pennywort salads (cooked, not western type salads). Lots of side dishes and soup served with everything. Try a drink at Haung Haung which has a great atmosphere and really cheap drinks. The draught red wine needs spicy crisps with it to make it drinkable.

Stayed here for 3 nights as part of a tour. As with other guests greeted by gongs and drums on arrival and waved off by multiple staff on departure, a nice touch.
Room was rather small but clean. Old style air conditioner was so noisy we had to turn it off and rely on opening the window. This would have been fine if there hadn't been a building site directly opposite where work started very early. Bathroom was a "wet room", which is OK until one person has just had a shower and the other needs use it. Served breakfast was OK if you like eggs.
Location in Nyaung Shwe was central and good for market/restaurants etc but can't understand why Nyaung Shwe itself has become "the resort town" for Inle Lake when it is actually 3 miles from the actual lake.
