“A piece of heaven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2013

We stayed two nights and loved it. We had a superior room that faced out towards the lake. Rooms on the other side face inwards over gardens, I would be dissapointed with these. The noise was not a problem for us, but maybe in the cottages which have direct frontage to the lake. As said previously, the walls are thin so noisy neighbours can be more of a problem. We had massages and felt very good value. The staff were also super helpful and informative. We felt dinner in the restuarant verry resonable, and drinks no dearer than any other nice place in Myanmar. Would reccommend highly.

Room Tip: Personally I would pick the water view and put up with the noise (not so bad)

I was part of a group from South Africa and we stayed 2 nights. Heinz and his staff were simply fabulous. Ever ready and friendly and professional. Rooms are fantastic.

Stayed in a room overlooking the little lake with the black swans - too beautiful Every morning we left by boat and were kindly assisted by the hotel personnel - always friendly - always ready.

The rooms are sumptuous and very nicely planned - mosquito nets ready to be drawn - can be very private or open and airy just as you wish. I will definitely advise friends to go and stay there. Also try the local red or white wine - was surprisingly good -and Heinz can inform you all about the vineyards. The only problem was that wi-fi is only at reception and one has to book for a pre-arranged time - mostly it was booked long in advance. If you could make it more available it will be tops for me.

This hotel is really gorgeous and after a long hot day in the sun and seeing all the villages, it is a very welcome sight.

Room Tip: overlooking the small lake and it was beautiful

Travelers heaven right on Inle lake: a resort built on stilts, in the neighborhood of the floating gardens. Nice and cozy atmosphere, very well kept rooms. Spent three nights there and had a room on the back side of the compound, looking away from the part of the lake where the boats pass by. Even though I am quite noise-sensitive, there was not much of a problem with the boats for me, not even during the one day I spent relaxing at the resort, walking around, reading, climbing the tower, visiting the staff quarters, watching life on the lake. Walls are very thin, you can hear every word of your neighbors. Drinks in the restaurant are quite expensive, but the food is almost the same price as in restaurants in Nyaungshwe. Restaurant staff are very attentive, and orders arrive fast. The hotel transfer from the Jetty in Nyaungshwe and back there will cost you 15,000 Kyats each way. If you arrive in the morning, you can rent a boat for around 18,000 for the whole day and drop off your baggage at the resort. The Thai massage for $ 20 is not worth the money. Staff at the reception are very helpful. Special thanks to Mrs. Kin Po for arranging an early morning trip to Heho airport at a very reasonable price!

Room Tip: Spend a little more and stay in a villa, it's worth it.

We stayed here for two nights in February.

They have two kinds of rooms, bungalows and superior rooms. We stayed in a superior room facing the lake.

The view of the hotel is great! There is a lot of activity on the water which is nice to look at. There is also a high viewpoint, which overlooks the whole lake. And we saw many nice sunsets! It is also very special to stay at the lake!

The staff is very, very friendly and helpfull! We also did our laundry at the hotel: great service! And we took a massage (they come to your room! And it was a readonable price, 10 dollars for 30 minutes).

The room is nice, with great beds and a nice small balcony, however the walls are really thin and you could hear everything the neighbours were saying or doing. Not much privacy!

This hotel is on stilts with standard rooms in the main building and 2 rows of cottages. It's 1 hr boat ride from the mainland. The boat ride costs 12,000 Kyats (at the moment). The staff is very friendly. Some speak better English than others but they all try. An older lady is the best to ask and arrange things. She's good. The main lobby is very nice with tables and seats where you can sit and have the best internet reception and if want to escape the mosquitoes at night.
The standard room is simple and not very big but good for the night. Same goes for the bathroom. Pretty much everything is wood. Our 2nd night is in a cottage, which are nicer, bigger (room & bathroom) and they put up the mosquito nets (I guess it's necessary near the water). They cost more, too, of course.
All rooms have a terrace with comfy chairs to chill out in and roofs, so not so good for sun tanning. From the cottages in the 1st row you can watch the river.

Breakfast is ok with coffee, tea, juice eggs, croissants and toast, butter and jam. But more the packed croissants not fresh ones. It fills you up for the morning. Times are 6-9 am, which is good if you have to catch an early flight. You'll need 2 hrs in total from the airport.

I'm not a big chill out fan so 1 day would have done me here. But if you like this kind of thing, stay at least 2. Most people do an all day boat tour that covers all the sights I guess. It was to cost 25,000. We just did 2 hrs in the area for 8,000 and then a 1 hr canoe ride to go into the small channels and not have the loud motor for 5,000. Both tours were very nice. Again, arrange with the hotel, as the boat drivers don't speak English and the prices were good. The hotel lady also arranged our transport back.

They have a good selection of food at the restaurant, starting at 2,000 for some vegetable dishes, but also meat and fish. If you've been travelling Myanmar for a while though, it's all quite similar.

Room Tip: Ask for the waterfront cottage if that's what you want. The boats start early though and are qui...

The paramount inle resort is one small step from heaven! With the capable and warm Mrs Friendly on the front desk, there are few difficulties without a solution! We had tried to get airline tx to
Bagan from inle from the US and couldn't find anything on the day we needed. When we were in Yangon we went to an Air Bagan office (it was next door to our hotel) and they couldn't find anything! Mrs. Friendly heard we planned to go by bus and was horrified (we are in our 70's) and within 15 minutes she had a reservation for us!!! She arranged for our excursions both days, and also for us to give away eyeglasses we had brought with us at a nearby monastery and all of the people were thrilled!

The hotel is situated right on what I called the Grand Canal. Longboats went one way in the early morning and the other way at sunset - they don't run much at night, so I found them to be a delightful reminder of where we were, and not a deterrent.

We stayed in a charming bungalow, built on stilts over the water. The cottage swayed with the passing wake! I loved waving at the local folks going back to their homes at night, and at the tourists.

You are captive for breakfast and dinner. The "Myanmar special breakfast" included a delicious soup ( not Mohinga - beef based). Dinners were fine and reasonably priced considering that you are a captive audience. There was too much food, though, so my husband and I quickly learned to share entrees.

We got wonderful value for $90/night.
This stay was the highlight of our trip to Myanmar.

The hotel stands on stilts on inle lake, but is connected to a village by a small bridge. The lady at the reception was extremely helpful, booked air tickets for us, helped us get a room at our next destination and found us someone to share the ride and the cost of the boat back to the mainland. Its fairly isolated and you can sit and watch the local and tourist boats ply the waters. You see a lot of local life by the lake. One major downside is that you are very likely to be woken up by 5am or so by the sound of motor boat engines which are crossing the lake. Getting a garden view room does not solve this problem. Another financial factor to consider when booking the hotel is that it costa about 15000 kyats one way from the mainland (nyaung shwe) to the hotel. This can seriously bump up your travel costs if you are wtaching it. Food at the restaurant is good. Wifi is free but can be spotty.
