Unfortunately i think the first impression given by hotel Helios set the tone for our stay. While the hotel itself was clean and well presented the staff left a lot to be desired. As many people do, we decided to rent a safety deposit box. For some strange reason the safety box was by the reception and not in the room. You then had to check with reception before you could open it..... not a disaster by any stretch of the imagination but still slightly irritating. Unfortunately when trying to say that this was a bit inconvinient, we were greated by a receptionist who...... lets say.... didnt have a great command of the english language. This was apparently the best invention since safety deposit boxes and i was just wrong. Ok, no worries, late night, could be a temp working the reception.
When we arrived the pool was great, clean and well maintained with pool rules that wern't too strict. by week 2 the pool was green and obviously not clean (Please see the photos). To the reception again.
"when will you clean the pool"?
This was very amusing to the receptionist who again couldn't comunicate to an acceptable level in english. This didn't sit very well with me as the pool was obviously dirty. I spoke with the pool manager and he told me that the pool was fine. 4 days later the pool returned to its normal colour and the pool manager gladly told me that he had found the problem. Very unusual considering that i was told there was nothting wrong and laughed at!
These were some of the incidents that i thought should be highlighted. There were numerouse others including being left stranded by the hotel taxi driver in the middle of nowhere (Please use the normal taxis as they are cheaper and much more reliable). We also had a fantastic cleaner who was genuinly nice and polite. The hotel is in a very good location, close to the beach and away from the noise of the town.

Expect to be "wrong" if you complain
Very poor service
On a side note. We noticed a large amount of disabled people traveling to this hotel. Please reconsider using this hotel if you are dissabled as there is no reasonable access to the town or the beach. 1 poor guy basically stayed in the hotel complex for 2 weeks because he couldn't get out.
