It's easy to say all large business hotels are the same these days and to some extent that's true, but small examples of good service make all the difference in my opinion. I stayed at the Intercontinental in Sao Paulo for two nights recently and was very impressed by the service.
After check-out I had a few hours to kill before my flight. The reception staff let me have complimentary wireless internet access while I waited in the lobby and this let me use the time to get a lot of work done (the weather outside was terrible so there was no incentive to do any sight-seeing!). They also let me use the business center internet access free of charge earlier in te stay when I couldn't get a connection in my room. Such things were typical of the courteous service I received throughout my stay. Good service always makes a big difference!
