Owner description: For jaw-dropping views of one of the planet's most sprawling cities, the Edifício Itália is practically peerless. Situated in a bustling, if worn-down corner of downtown São Paulo, the 46-story office tower is capped by the Terraço Itália restaurant and bar. Adequate, expensive food and almost-campy white-glove service aside, you'll never see a sunset as memorable. Free access to observation deck Monday-Friday 3-4 p.m.

Between 3 - 4 during the week its free to go up to the viewing deck. From there you start to understand just how big Sampa really is!

“Bellissimo! Views and Great Brunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2012

This was actually my 2nd choice of viewing towers, because my 1st choice is closed on the weekends. During the week you can just visit the viewing area, but on the weekends you'll have to have a drink or something to eat. It's a 2 elevator ride up to the top. The first car is unaccompanied, and the 2nd car has a lift-operator. The Piano bar upstairs has great views, and there's a minimum drink obligation. On the floor below is where the restaurant is, and that's where the entrance to the outside viewing area is.

I visited on a Sunday, so I had a glass of champagne in the Piano bar, before venturing downstairs, for a glorious corner table in the restaurant. The Sunday Brunch was delicious, and the ambiance was chilled and relaxed. After brunch I spent ages on the outside observation deck, where you have expansive views of the whole city. These views really put the expansive nature of Sao Paulo into perspective. Well worth a visit.

“A landmark”

Not to be missed.
Franz Heep's edifice is still a masterpiece.
The view from the restaurant gives one the best overviews of how damn expansive this city and how people live in it !!
