“Decent place for a good price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Stayed for 2 days, the hotel staff was very accommodating. It is located in a nice neighborhood with lots of restaurants around. The key card was a little tricky to operate to make the room electronics work which was a bit of a pain (I think the key card housing was cracked). The room is a little tight but clean.

The bedrooms are large and clean. Comfortable bed, new linens, large television and great water pressure on the shower. Twin beds are a bit too small, tv channel selection somewhat limited. Unfortunatelly I was in Sao Paulo on a very warm day and rooms A/C did not keep room temperature comfortable enough for me. Free Wi-Fi and good conection speed. Location is great!

I stayed at Tryp Itaim during 4 days for a business trip and I really enjoyed the stay. The staff is very friendly and the hotel is well located (obviously it depends a lot on where you have to go in SP).
In the surrounding there is not much to see (for sightseeing for instance), but it's a safe and quiet neighborhood.
The free Wifi is acceptable in Speed, even though it might strongly depend on where in the room you are. But overall it's OK.
At the very top of the building a pool and a gym at available free of charge.

Room Tip: I don't think there is a particular concern for any side of the building. I was in the third flo...

I spent a week in this hotel on a trip to Sao Paulo and enjoyed my time there. The staff was friendly and helpful during my stay. The room was good quality as well. There are good restaurants nearby as well, although they vary greatly in price.

Great breakfast with a lot of choices in bread, eggs, jams and fruit. Hotel has a real business based staff and similar rooms. Several international TV channels and wifi in the entire hotel. Unfortunately not for free! :( Several really nice restaurants in the neighborhood.

This is meant to be a modern hotel - as two freelancers travelling, wi-fi was a key consideration in choosing the hotel, which we were willing to pay a little extra for.

The hotel itself is nice enough and otherwise modern, with a good spread for breakfast and a fantastic location but the wi-fi was key for us and it was terrible. You could also only connect one device to the wi-fi at a time so we had to switch between laptop, iPad and phone - absolute pain.

The air conditioning was right above the bed which meant we couldn't turn it on without waking up with a sore throat. The staff didn't lock the balcony.

For these issues, we unfortunately cannot recommend - not suitable for our purpose.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2014

We stayed at the Tryp for 5 nights during the World Cup. First of all, as previous reviewers have commented, the hotel is in a good safe area with plenty of excellent shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. Special mention to the little pasty shop across the road which serves fantastic Chilean empanadas (I would leave a review if I knew the name of the place). As for the hotel itself, when we arrived and were led to the room, it was still not ready (thought the hotel computer would have been able to tell this), however we were immediately upgraded to a superior room - no complaints there! The room was more than sufficient with complimentary dressing gown, slippers and coffee maker. It was also a good size. The breakfast was an excellent spread with everything you could have wanted. We did use the pool on a couple of occasions which was well kept. Only small moan would be the annoying design of the area which would block the sun at certain times. Complimentary wi-fi was put to good use. Some other reviewers have complained about the noise but I must say this was not an issue for us - only noise of note were from passing aircraft.
Staff at the front desk were helpful although they did have a small problem understanding our accents which was amusing.

Room Tip: Get a premium room if finances allow
