2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2010

This hotel is not up to Mercure standards. Several little things, and one big thing are the problem. Little things: Not enough desk staff working the desk (one can hear staff in the back office, no effort to come out and help a colleague deal with a line of guests); dirty carpets throughout; sparsely furnished rooms; broken toilet; TV programming that only sometimes works; poor location mid block surrounded by parking lots; dimly lit workout facility with three pieces of equipment; unlit indoor pool area; broken in-room safe; deserted (and crazy expensive) restaurant; etc etc etc. One big thing-- sliding door broken and no way to lock it. That is a problem in this very high crime city. Not recommended.

Spacious suite, good location, friendly staff - overall a great experience as a business hotel.

It's a short taxi ride to restaurants and superb shopping - it's not in the middle of it all but not far away by taxi.

Pool does not receive sun, not a place for sun bathing - seems to not be used much. The sauna is out of order it appeared.

The restaurant served a decent breakfast. Room service pizza was good, ordered room service because the ambiance was lacking and no customers so I decided I would order in as well.

Definitely recommend the hotel.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2008

We chose this hotel because our Brazilian friends recommended it and we know the hotel chain. The room was like a minisuite It included a division where the TV was set on a turning table so you could watch it from the small living room or the bedroom. Everything was modern, and the room also included a balcony with a view to Ibirapuera Park. If you're interested in going to that park, that is the place to stay. Only but-it's 7 blocks away from the nearest metro station and it's uphill. We would be sometimes too tired from all the walking and would take the bus that passes right around the corner. Other than that, it's a good hotel, the area is safe, breakfast was great (buffet) and service excellent. We went one day to another city and they stored our back packs until we came back.

  • Liked — The room -comfy and practical
  • Disliked — That the metro was far
