“Excellent Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2013 via mobile

We arrived at São Paulo with an idea we wanted to stay here, so after finding it and deciding the location was absolutely perfect we went to book. It worked out cheaper literally standing outside the hotel and booking the room online as apose to going in and booking at reception (little tip for you there!)

Checking-in took a little while, just some extra forms etc to fill out but staff were pleasant and able to answer our questions about the area (where to get currency changed, where to buy this and that etc).

Room was large with a big tv and lots of room. The bathroom was also nice and included shampoos, soap. Free wifi also which was very fast!!

We didn't eat in the restaurant but I believe one was there- but the location is so good you literally walk onto the street and you can see at least six places for dinner!

The price is great- and I'm sure you can get it for even cheaper for booking in advance, but what we paid (I think around £70 sterling) was good value for money anyway!!

When I do come back to São Paulo this is where I'll be staying, without a doubt!!

This hotel is on Paulista Ave. which is in a nice area of Sao Paulo. It is convenient to businesses, shopping, and several restaurants. The hotel is no frills. There is not an exercise room, but the area is safe enough for a morning jog. The check-in and check-out is very slow compared to USA hotels. The lobby space has a reception desk and bar area crammed in a very small area. First day I ate the breakfast and it was just OK. The coffee was "instant" from a push button machine--not good. The juices were good though. The rest of my stay I went down the street for breakfast where there were many nice cafes. The internet service was good. The rooms are very small but seemed clean. The bed linens were older (seams coming apart) but clean. The bath is also small. The grout in the shower was black in the corners and many other areas of the shower. The rate I paid was around $120USD/night.

Twenty trips or so to Sao Paulo and I always wanted to stay at this hotel. The location is perfect for my needs. But I never could book as I am a last minute traveler and this place always fills up.

I was delighted to get a booking last week, but then gravely disappointed by the hotel.

The front desk is chaos. Either the computer system is antiquated and inadequate or the staff are completely untrained. As a member of the frequent stayer program I expected to just provide a credit card and and sign in....but I had to complete my life history on a form as the desk claims that they don't get clients info. from the booking site (their own booking site).

The place is noisy.....real noisy. I don't mind, but most travelers do.

The room was dirty. The windows were filthy. The grout in the bathroom tiles was blackened. There was damage and cracks to those tiles. My duvet cover had two blood stains on it. The TV channel selection was very limited....only one regular English channel, the worthless CNN. The closet is only 3' high. And the room is one of the smallest I have ever seen, ever.

I have stayed at many hotels within 3-5 blocks of the Ibis. There are several that cost the same or less....and provide you double the space and have better service. The Massis and the Manhattan are within two blocks and each charges less and is far, far superior.

The Ibis has the atmosphere of a youth hostel.

Avoid it.

This hotel is perfectly located at Paulista Avenue, few meters from Consolação subway station, linking you to almost everywhere. And for after party case, any taxi driver in the country would know here it is... avoiding any inconvenience. Rooms are small, but clean and confortable. Breakfast lacks a bit more options, but for a 3 start hotel it is quite good. The elevator is a little bit trick... some floors have access restricted by card, others not.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing Paulista Avenue. This is the only "view" you'll have other than...

3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2013

Stayed several nights at this clean, no frills hotel, very well located in the business section in Sao Paulo. The room was clean, and the Internet was free, fast and stable, which is more than I can say for many hotels that charge for the service. The food was average (only had breakfast), but there are plenty of restaurants near by. My two complaints are that (1) there is not a single comfortable sofa to sit -- the room only has a chair -- and no sofas in the lobby although I must say part of it was in renovation, and (2) my room was very close to the building next door, and so the window had a sticker recommending to keep the curtains closed. Don't know if the rooms on the other side of the hallway had the same problem. The staff was not very friendly or helpful, but I didn't have to deal much with them.

I stayed in the Ibis Paulista for 5 nights, it was clean, comfortable with a great location at half the price than most other hotels in the area. Standard Ibis basic compact room the staff were helpfull and pleasent. There are loads of small restaurants and other activities steps away. It is a great choice if you want to be central and not spend a small fortune.

We traveled to Brazil in December 2012 and needed to stop over in Campinas before heading to our main destination. We stayed at this hotel for 1 night.
Room: It was clean and had air conditioning, but was not somewhere I would wish to stay for any length of time. Americans are not accustomed to having a bidet however if you happen to require a bidet, beware that the bidet was a hose connected to a water line next to the toilet and was laying on the floor.
Services: Although the staff was nice enough, if you do not speak Portuguese you will have difficulty No one working at this hotel spoke English or Spanish
