Ok, first of all, the hotel looks AWFUL when you approach it. The entrance is this weird subway looking ramp with a dirty mirror and a plant. The reception area is dreary but the receptionist is experienced and friendly (the experienced part is tough to find in Brazil), so the confidence started to build a little there. I was initially given a room upstairs, which was really small with a tiny window and a lovely view of a wall. The wireless internet connection is good and free, so I just used my laptop until I fainted. The next day I asked for another room, which was a huge improvement although the view was still non-existent. No problem, views are rare in SP budget hotels. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and there was not that much noise. I slept soundly the three nights I was there. The pleasant surprise came in the morning, with the breakfast. Much better than the lousy stuff offered in an Ibis Budget, for example, and its included in the price. In summary, if they invest on a nicer reception, this hotel is a great find in the centre of SP, right at the end of the Paulista, 2 blocks from the Paulista shopping centre. I definitely recommend it if you need a place to crash, have little money and appreciate good service, free internet and a good breakfast.
