“My visit was a dream!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2013

I don't have many opportunities to visit Sao Paulo and I was dreaming with the moment I could do it and, most importantly, to attend a concert at this gorgeous place, home of the excellent State of Sao Paulo Symphonic Orchestra (OSESP), presently directed by the New Yorker conductor Marin Alsop. The acoustics of the place is stunning. The concert hall is beautiful and very easily accessed. There is a Café, a restaurant, a splendid shop where one can find a remarkable selection of cds, dvds, books and other objects that make a perfect gift. To those who go by car, there is a parking lot available, I recommend a visit to Sala Sao Paulo with great enthusiasm!

“Architecture and Magical Concerts in the same place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2013

All the events in Casa São Paulo are unmissible. The architecture is a must see among others in downtown. Take a look on the OSESP (São Paulo Symphony Orchestra) calendar and enjoy a magical concert.

“Magic musical experience in a place with special atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2013

It's a really special place.
It was a train station built in the 20s for the São Paulo coffee stock market but after the transportation switch into cars and trucks this wonderful building became the Julio Prestes Cultural Center in 1999. The magnificent Sala São Paulo is the home of the São Paulo State Symphonic Orchestra (OSESP) and it has a capacity of almost 1500 seats.
I've been there this morning in order to attend the free morning concert at 11 a.m.. Amazing!
The theatre is wonderful and the acoustics simply great. So it was a fantastic experience I'll probably repeat in the next weeks.

Inside the center is possible to find also a little coffee bar and a store to buy books, cd's, dvd's and some souvenirs.

Some suggestions:
- for the free events usually it's better to book before the tickets online but thanks to the big capacity of the sala it's ok to go there just 15 minutes before and get them directly;
- the place is in a quite dangerous area so maybe it could be better to get a taxi from the Luz metro station (around 1km far).

When I've been there? November-17th 2013
Price? FREE (it was the Sunday morning concert)
How to reach it? Luz metro station
