“Excellent choice for the airport”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2011

Be aware there are effectively two hotels here. These comments are about the Caesar Park, which I think is the better (and more expensive) of the two. This is a very good hotel. Very convenient for the airport with a regular shuttle to and from the terminals. I used it for the day following an early arrival at the airport. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Although my day rate did not include breakfast I was offered coffee and juice in the lounge (where the reception is located). The rooms are a good size, and well furnished. They are also well sound insulated, important for an airport hotel.

Lunch in the bar was OK but not special and rather expensive.

This is a great hotel to stay if you are using the airport.

The rooms at the Caesar Park are well appointed and very clean. The furnishings are fairly new and well maintained. DON'T PLAN TO EAT THERE. The service was okay, but the food was terrible. A sea bass entree was more like fish stick at McDonalds. The salad and steamed vegetables were okay. The setting was more like a cafeteria than a restaurant. Thank goodness for a decent wine and port selection, though there is no bar other than the restaurant/cafeteria.

The facilities are very good, the staff is kind enough to help satisfy your needs. The hotel is great if you are just staying overnight, but not for a regular tourist and staying for a few days as its far away from everything but the airport. Very expensive drinks and food, but the food is very good.

Expensive Hotel but they still want you to pay more for little things.

If you see a bottle of still water in the bathroom by the side of the glasses don't think that it is free. Go and get a bottle from the minibar (check if it the domestic water and price). The one in the bathroom they say is imported and will cost 17 Reais (US$10.50).

After my flight was cancelled I took the shuttle bus to this hotel to stay here for a night. The trip from the airport was quick, I think around 10 minutes. When arriving, from the outside the hotel looked great with its lights. Inside was also nice, huge lobby with enough places to sit and read a newspaper or magazine. There was also a small souvenir store, a piano actually playing on its own and a nice bar. The room was big, big bed and a nice bath room (no bath though). Dinner was good, although I arrived late it was still possible to eat at 11 PM (I recommend the chocolatte mousse as desert, its great). Breakfast was good too. The staff is friendly, however some of them don't speak English. There was also an outdoor tennis court. There is free internet but it's not very fast. Unfortunatelly there is also nothing close to the area so if you aren't by car and you want to go somewhere you have to get a cab.

Overall a great hotel, close to the airport and nice to stay for a relaxed night.

We have stayed at least 2 or 3 times per year at the Caesar near GRU for the past 7 years. The personnel are always friendly, helpful and efficient. The restaurant has good food and service and the rooms always clean and welcoming. The airport shuttle runs systematically which is great to depend on after a long flight into Sao Paulo. We have stayed at other hotels around the area and always gladly return to the Caesar. Used the spa service at our previous visit and it was superb! In the seven years we have stayed, it is starting to show slight signs of wear, although still very clean, but it did not hinder our stay or our satisfaction, which is the reason I didn't rate "excellent". Will always recommend this hotel to friends and family.

The property is adjacent to the GRU International Airport. During my five days at this property I did not hear any noise from the airport. Shuttle service was exceptional. As were the hotel front desk, bell captains, security and other staffers. The hotel lobby area, elevators and hallways appear to have been recently updated. Unfortunately, it appears the hotel room updates are lagging behind. In my room, the carpet was filthy and stained. The mattress is very hard and uneven in both beds. The desk area is scratched, the simulated wood appears to be peeling from the original surface, and the electrical outlet provides intermittent power and the internet Ethernet cable did not work. The bathroom smells of mildew and needs an exhaust fan. The room as a whole was very musty. As for the hotel restaurant / bar, food quality was good. The breakfast area offered a good selection of cereals, fruit, bread and traditional breakfast fare. Dinner buffet and a la carte options were also good. Waiters are prompt to take orders and food was delivered in a timely manner. However, waiters rarely, if at all, returned to the table after the entrées were served. Drinks were always very late to arrive at the dinner table. One restaurant waiter states that the system of registering orders between the restaurant and bar is time consuming. I was not pleased with the hotel imposing a ten-percent (10%) 'hotel service fee'; handwritten by the wait staff on a separate receipt. I later learned the incremental charge was not a hotel service fee rather the waiters' tip. I am happy to reward waiters for their service during a meal however; the amount should be at my discretion based on their performance. And, the proposal should not be presented as a required Hotel Service Fee. I would hesitate to recommend this hotel to colleagues traveling to Sao Paulo.
