We traded in to this hotel through RCI (timeshare) in August 2007. This is their winter (low) season, so the hotel was deserted. We stayed there 6 days and only saw two other cars. We has a 2 bedroom unit, which had a king bed in one bedroom, 2 sets of bunkbeds in the other (4 beds total). There was a small kitchen downstairs. I don't know if it was because it was low season, and the climate is very humid, but some of the kitchen utensils were moldy. They also don't provide any dish soap or sponges, which we had to purchase ourselved at a local market. The hotel has beach access, but we really didn't spend any time there because it was cold and raining most of the time. It turns out that it was the coldest month they had had in over 10 years!
The front desk staff were very nice and helpful, most spoke spanish and some english. There was a fireplace in the room, and they provide firewood, which was essential in keeping us warm as there are no heaters.
I think this makes a good base to explore the rest of the island. We rented a car, and found that driving there was easy. There is also a bus system that covers the island, but I'm not sure how reliable or convenient it is. The nearby town of Canavieras was nice, lots of shopping and eating.
Overall, I would go back to this hotel if I ever returned to Floripa (hopefully in the summer months).
