The staff was awesome. They made all the effort to allow us to check in early, considering we were travelling with our 4-month-old. They were very helpful with other stuff such as calling cabs, handling our luggage, etc, and were always smiling and playing with our daughter. When we arrived, they had already assembled a crib for her in our bedroom, as we asked for it in our reservation.
Although some visitors rather stay near the beaches, I prefer downtown Floripa, so this hotel was perfect for our trip. It's near the city market, and within walking distance from Beira Mar and lots of restaurants, supermarkets, pharmacies (very convenient when you travel with a baby). Also, our room had a very nice view of the bridge.
The daily rate includes a typically brazilian and very good breakfast. We could choose from a variety of cakes and different types of bread; there were also 2 types of cheese, 2 types of juice, milk, cereal, 4 types of fruit, coffee, scrambled eggs, sausage, yogurt, butter, cream cheese, jelly, etc. Simple, but tasty.
Our room was a little small and worn out. Toilet didn't flush properly. Wardrobe doors didn't close. Internet connection was poor, but hey, it was for free (if you're staying there for business purposes, PLEASE don't rely on the free internet). Those things didn't bother us that much, though. We thought we paid a fair price.
We learned that the hotel has a pool but didn't check it out, since the point of the trip was visiting family and friends. I think there is also a sauna, but I'm not sure.
If you are staying at Intercity Premium Florianópolis, maybe you should consider hiring a car, because the beaches are kinda far from there. It gives you the opportunity to go to as many beaches as time and weather allow, while staying at a pousada near the beach may force you to see the same sights during the whole duration of your vacation.
I would stay there again and will recommend it to my friends.
