Wifi is awful. Building is pretty run down. staff does not know english at all. easy to get noise complains here if you are with a group of friends. really cool rooftop view of Florianopolis, however.

Room Tip: check the room out when you get there to see if it has WIFI. If it doesn't throw a fit and hope...

This hotel eventthough is not a ocean front, is near of a park in the downtown, you can walk to place around the government building, also there are several stores and miscelaneous gifts store very close, you can walk to the public market.

Room Tip: Excelent hotel for the price offered.

The hotel is under renovation. 70% of the lobby is presenting very badly, with cables hanging from the ceiling, rubble, no pavement.
The elevator and the fitted carpets are stinky and they really need to be replaced.
The room is very spacius but the double bed is more of a 1,5 bed. The bed and the furniture is basic. There is no power socket near the bed. The bathroom is good, a bit stinky probably due to a drain poorly built. The wifi works very badly.
The price is on the average of the city, but the quality is definitely below average.

The hotel is in an excellent location, close to the bus station and good for walking and exploring the city, the decor and rooms are from a bygone day but were adequate, clean and the bed was comfortable. There was a problem with the TV so I had to be moved to another room for the second night, which did have a musty smell as if it hadn't been used in a long time. The best part of this hotel is the staff and the breakfast choices, they even have pizza, which was a nice change from the usual fare. I found the staff to be very helpful and accommodating, with lots of suggestions as to where to go and what to do. This was my first time in Floripa and next time I'll stay on the lagoon or one of the beaches

The toillet smells urine, the mobilia are like 50 years ago, the room's door simply won't open, the restaurant doesn't open for lunch or dinner, the entire hotel smells fungus and the gran finalle, the service is made by 18 year-old amateurs.
Unfortunally Brazil doesn't have any rank standard for hotels. This Florianopolis Palace Hotel gives itself 5 stars, but doesn't worth a single one.

Got this place for just under R$202 per night which is a bit of a bargain for this part of Brazil. We stayed in town thinking there were more options for nightlife but that proved incorrect. Luke a previous reviewer said, I can be tricky to find somewhere to eat on town, but places do exist in the Baira Mar Norte area in the north of the centre, which is a gentle 10-15 min stroll from the hotel. The hotel is also excellently located for the central local bus station (TINCEN) from which you can take frequent buses to the beaches.
The hotel itself is very dated. It's a long time since I saw a caramel brown bathroom suite! That said, the rooms were clean and the included breakfast not too bad. I guess the overall point is that you'll never be staying in floripa for the hotel or the town, it's the astonishingly beautiful beaches and nature that makes the place special.
Finally, it looks like the hotel is undertaking some major renovations on the rooms, as we were woken up by loud construction noise from the next door room. Peeking inside the open door on the way to breakfast the room was completely gutted. Seems there's new life on the way for FloPH!
