“This is THE Place to Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2014

If you are interested in south Florianopolis, this is definitely the place to stay. It is located on a low-traffic, but beautiful beach and just a short drive to busier beaches. The rooms are excellent, breakfast is great, and the owner is present and helpful with any questions you have about the area, etc. You can even book a private dinner at the hotel. My wife and I loved this place and definitely plan to go again.

Stayed here for a week in mid December 2013. First the resort, like other reviewers we found it very picturesque and relaxing. The long sweeping Armacao beach was gorgeous for relaxing and walking. We had our dinner out there one night with big waves crashing in and a full moon rising about 10pm over the horizon - amazing. A good buffet food bar to eat at very reasonable prices - pay by weight. If you care to walk another kilometre to Matadeiro beach, this is an incredibly beautiful setting served by three beach bars. The only negative point about the whole beach resort is the number of unattended dogs wandering around.
The Pousada itself is clean, tidy and comfortable. it could be improved a little bit if the room floors were swept better, sand gets everywhere! Yes there are mosquitos but this depends on which way the wind blows and is part of life in this type of climate. The Pousada backs onto some very lush green vegetation at the foot of the hills. If the wind comes down from the hills and you have your rear windows open, you will get mozzies coming in. If it comes off the sea, you won't. Make sure you use your repellant regularly and you will not get bitten. Keep your windows closed if you have your lights on.
The breakfast is gorgeous, home made cakes, fresh fruits aplenty, yoghurts, cream cheeses, cereals, variety of teas and coffee. Homemade Pao do Queijo and Waffles also arrive at your table, delivered by a lovely Waitress called Fran. The Pousada Proprieter is a decent chap called Klaus, a part-German, part-American and fluent speaker of at least 3 languages including English. We also enjoyed a fresh fish platter one evening prepared by a chef - absolutely gorgeous. Enough food for about 6 people. Stay here and relax like never before - very good experience.

Room Tip: No problem ground floor, large fans work ok. Room 5 had a few minor technical issues, e.g Tv recepti...

I spent with 2 friends of mine some days here in January 2012. Sorry for delay but I really want tripadvisor readers to know about this amazing pousada.
Clean, good breakfast, 2 steps from the Armacao Beach (very calm, if you want movida go to Lagoa or Ingleses for example). We paid for a three bed just in front to the beach and we had a little garden with a table and chair and hammock to chill outside. Also a barbecue was provided.
The owner, Klaus, is extremely kind and full of good advices for every kind of needs.
Pls remind that you are in the "not so funny area" so if you want something more exciting in terms of pubs, discos, bars and so on this is not your place!

My wife and I were looking for a quiet spot for the weekend and this place was perfect. The owner, Klaus, speaks English which was very helpful and can be hard to come by in Florianopolis. Klaus and his workers were very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The rooms are decent sized with a fridge, safe, good shower pressure, etc. The location is right on the beach, and one of the more beautiful, quiet beaches at that. You are also close to Lagoinha de Leste and Campeche Island, 2 of the most beautiful spots in Florianopolis. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to come back sometime soon.

Backing right onto Armacao Beach, this pousada was a pleasant surprise. The owner Klaus makes you feel welcome like you're staying in his house (which I guess you are ;-). The rooms are clean and functional, definitely worth paying the extra 20 realos for an upstairs room with aircon. There was a great lounge area too, our only gripe was being pestered by mosquitos. Good complimentary breakfast, bikes and surfboards free to rent. Don't miss going to Nutri Lanches a couple of hundred meters North on the main road for their great value, healthy lunch buffet (12-3pm).

Room Tip: Go for an aircon room upstairs

The pousada was really perfect. Quiet, clean, friendly staff, great location. There is a hammock on the balcony/patio in each room, great complimentary breakfast with fresh fruits and homemade breads/cakes. The beach is right out of the back gate - really gorgeous, natural beach!

Really, my only complaint was the lack of air conditioning, which of course I expected. It was just so humid, which kept my wet clothes from drying, even with the ceiling fan on.

Anyway, highly recommended!! I would certainly return!
