It is amazing view up there but it is not chill out walk through the forest up the hill. It is proper work out and climbing too at some point. So be prepared - don`t go with hangover, without at least 2L of water, proper shoes (flip flops are for the beach), camera, sun protection, hat and some food. It`s better to go earlier, we started at 11, it took about 2,5hours to get up and it was so beautiful up there that would like to stay longer. It´s ok to go also without guide, the trail is very well marked with yellow signs but don`t go alone, try to find a mate as some points are maybe hard to do alone. During the day there are usually guides with ropes and they don`t mind if you use their rope but it is doable also without a rope. To get to starting point take a bus to Barra and get off after the tunnel or close to the bar Oswaldo.
