A lot of fun. Comfortable mix of tourists and locals. Not the most hard core Rio dance place, but in no way a tourist trap - tons of people, most locals. A great spot to go which was recommended to us by a friend who lives in Copa and goes there with her girlfriends.
Definite good idea to make a reservation for the 10:00 pm seating. If you cannot do so ahead of time, maybe your hotel could do for you ahead of time. They open at 8pm, have an 8pm show and a 10pm show.
If you get a 10:00 pm table reservation, you can eat dinner there, or not, or just use your table for drinks/dessert and a place to chill. If you can get an 8:00 pm table reservation, plan on eating dinner there as the place will be pretty empty for a while. If you do not have any reservation, just show up by 7:30 and wait on line - you'll probably score a "bad" table (there really aren't many great ones anyway) but at least you'll be in. If you show up later on without a reservation just looking to get in to party, you'll have a tremendous line waiting for you. We were there on a recent Saturday and by 10:00 pm the line was very long, by midnight it was ridiculous.
