We went to Rio for the Rio de Janeiro Marathon and the hotel was a great choice, clean and close to the Botafogo subway station. They also made special dinner on the day before the race and special breakfast on the race day. Really nice.

Stayed here for more than a month during the 2014 World Cup. The staff was remarkable. Friendly, attentive and responsive to every need. They went out of their way to make sure I and my colleagues were happy and addressed any issues right away. Several of the staff spoke good to reasonable english, which really helped.

Rooms were business essential. Very clean. The closets were a little small for an extended stay, but most people wont be staying here a month so will find them to be ample. The hotel restaurant can be great and the bar area was open 24 hours with food and drinks.

Best part of the hotel was location. Botafogo is a great neighborhood, very safe part of Rio. Mostly residential area, with families out walking on weekends and a great little street market a few blocks away on Saturdays. Lots of great restaurants within walking distance. Close to several beaches too. Grocery store around the corner and drug stores nearby.

When hotel filled up for World Cup, the wifi was pretty slow, but that was the only issue we had.

Highly recommend for a safe, enjoyable and economical stay in Rio.

The hotel has no frills. Nice trendy lobby with free internet & great breakfast. Rooms were small but very clean and had a decent closet and shelf space. We stayed here during the world cup time and even then the prices were very reasonable! Metro within walking distance and short ride to Copacabana and other parts of town make it a very convenient location. Not much action or restaurants but there are some walking distance. Grocery store around the corner helps too.

Modern hotel with friendly staff, nice lobby bar and good restaurant (breakfast 16 BRL). Rooms are clean, bright and with normal Ibis measures, would recommend it for a couple but quite tight for two male buddies. Free Wifi working fine in every room, surrounding area seemed to be safe with some little shops. There are some very kind guys in front of the hotel (taxi and luggage service) which turned out to be very helpful as most of the taxi drivers do not speak at least one english word ;-)

I was based here for 3 weeks during the World Cup in 2014. A very clean modern and comfortable place to stay in a great location with easy access to the Metro for getting around in Rio. The Hotel itself is pretty anonymous in that nobody bothers you there. Some of the reception staff speak english and nothing is ever too much trouble for them. It has a nice restaurant where we ate a buffet breakfast each morning but I can't comment on it's offering for lunch or dinner but lunchtime did seem busy. The rooms are the size what you would expect for a budget hotel but have nice comfy beds and a good shower. The Hotel has a bar within the reception area so that is not very private but is totally adequate and the barman who was on duty most evenings most nights during our stay makes a wicked Caiparinha. In fact, I would say one of the best in Rio!. The only slight complaint and it is very minor was the poor quality of the wi fi. It was also a shame that it did not have a pool, but Copacabana Beach was only one stop on the metro

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the main road side of the hotel as it will be much quieter
