Having read all the reviews we thought we would give this place a try. I travel all over the world and have had the opportunity to experience a lot of different cuisines. Although i may not have a professionally trained palette i can tell the difference between great and mediocre. This place is definitely mediocre at best. We had both their cerviches, empanadas and their cold meat/cheese plate along with 4 glasses of wine. Total bill R$200. I am not worried about spending that on a good experience. But here the wine selection is VERY limited (and not very good quite frankly). You can tell that the ingredients they are using are processed, canned foods and definitely selected based on lowest cost rather than best value or best quality. Again i have no problem with that if they are positioning themselves as a lower end eatery. But "gastrobar"??!! Come on guys...there is NOTHiNG gastro about this place! If you think there is you its clearly a frame of reference issue and you should experience more of the world and your competition before putting your next menu together. Lastly...they decided to slip in R$40 on the bill for the entertainment...again i am fine with that if you advise us in advance and give us a choice in the matter rather than waiting until serving me the bill. There are plenty of great spots in Rio...this is just not one of them. Hugely disappointed!!
