“Great Location in Great City”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2014

This is your typical IBIS. The location is great. Your are three blocks off of Copacabana beach. The breakfast is okay. There is free wifi. There are lots of restaurants nearby, including a dominos pizza around the corner.

Note that the hotel can get you a taxi for 50 Reals to the international airport. It was a great deal.

It's an Ibis so you know what you are getting, but as others have said the rooms are very clean and pretty well sized. You will be paying about 30 quid a night less than the hotels on the beachfront and yet the beach is literally 5 minutes away. The other plus is that the metro station is a 1 minute walk and so you can visit Ipanema and Leblon very easily. The staff are very helpful and pleasant and most speak good English. The buffet breakfast is very good with a good choice of fruit, cakes and the usual Brazillian breakfast fare. As we reckoned we would not be spending much time in the hotel itself it would be a good option and that is exactly what it turned out to be. Would recommend if on a budget and you don't need a load of unnecessary extras.

This is a new and good Ibis at Copacabana. You are a few steps of the subway (Cardeal Arcoverde station) and 2 blocks from the beach (Av. Atlantica and Copacabana Palace Hotel). Basic and clean room as you would expect from an IBIS. In this location, it is easy to go either to Ipanema/Leblon or Botafogo/downtown. The price is fair.

Room Tip: High floors in the back part are more quiet

at first i would n t go in a foreign country to stay in an ibis hotel. But it was the world cup and everyhting was booked. Finally i can say that this hotel is very good.
Located one parallel street to the seafront it takes only one minute to go to Copacabana praia.
The room are very clean, and there are big enough. Well there s no view from the room, the room are front to appartment but it s often like tht in RDJ. The bathroom is ok with a big shower.
Breakfast isn t fantastic very simple, that s my only regret. To conclude yes, you can book a room here it s no bad surprise for that kind of hotel; and enjoy rio

This is a new Ibis hotel (2014) at Copacabana. Location is fairly good, you are 2 minutes from metro, 4 minutes (2 blocks) from the beach.
You get exactly what you expect from Ibis hotel. Basic room, but clean and quite spacious, quite a good buffet breakfast and reasonable price.
As the quality of many 4* hotels is barely a 3*, this is a really nice option. I have seen much worse 4* then Ibis.
If you do not need a sea view, pool 2x2m like most of the hotels have in Rio and fancy lobby area, just go here, you will not regret.
Free wifi in all the hotel.

Very good standard for good value on this place. Hotel is on second block from Copacabana. Rooms are standard IBIS rooms as other IBIS rooms in the world. Breakafast was nice with fruit etc. Lobby bar is good and open whole day. On Copacabana beach you are in 5 minutes. Metro station is just 3 minutes and many restaurants and bars around!

I have been here for a full month and one thing you can say is that the hotel is consistent.
The rooms are all the same and kept clean and tidy.
The shower is one of the best I have ever used in a hotel. The bed takes up most of the room but is very comfortable.
The power sockets take the very strange Brazilian 3 pin hexagon sockets and are all 220 volts worth remembering that the bathroom is the same so shaver adaptors do not work. I have had to use an adaptor from the front desk which converts to European and then a UK adaptor plugged in.
Breakfast is fine however a bit un inventive every day is the same.
Staff are very helpful and always seem to try to help
