The demand for this tour was high. There was limited space allocation and we had to go back 3 hours later when they had space. We had to pay to get in. That said it was the only way to see the theatre - no shows on, as the months of Jan & Feb are used to carry out maintenance within the building. It was all a bit disappointing. We started the tour by watching a video film showing the recent restoration of the theatre. Then we accompanied a guide who spoke only passable English around the main auditorium, up onto the first floor and out on a balcony. Then it was down and out - all over in 34 minutes. Even the cafe area was under refurbishment. A shame because it could have been so much better
