A note to anyone planning to go to the Sugar Loaf: bring cash or Visa debit card because those are the only options for purchasing tickets.

And yes, the view is spectacular, especially if you're lucky enough to time your visit so you can see the sunset.

Ok...Just to start off...This place is by far the most spectacular geographical destination I have ever visited. You have a mixture of mountains, valleys, beaches, heat, fog...It's amazing. The ride up to the Sugar Loaf is exhilirating...You dangle in that glass capsule and feel like you're soaring to the top of the mountain. Once you make it to the top, the views are breath-taking. You can see the Corcovado and the Christ, you see Copacabane Beach...This was the most spectacular part of my trip. Loved it!...Couldn't imagine my trip without it.

Ride a cable car to two mountain peaks (Sugar Loaf being the tallest and last) for outstanding views of the bay, ocean, and city. The cars seemed to be departing about every 15 minutes. When you reach the last peak, don't miss the park that you can access by walking down the mountain just a short way. Enough said, look at the pic's!

You get 2 cable cars up to the top, people working there are lovely. You might have a nervous breakdown on the ride up there due to the multiple "aged" cabel cars laying amongst the trees but the view from the top is superb.
