Owner description: A towering statue of Jesus Christ (Cristo Redentor) perched atop the Corcovado Mountain is accessible by a steep train or winding car ride followed by numerous staircases, but it’s worth the trek to see this 98-foot statue up close and the whole of Rio below.

The Corcovado was amazing! It was HUGE, and offered spectacular views of the city. They had snacks available at the top, and a pretty restaurant too. If you are looking for something to do in Rio, this is my top pick!

“Must See - Even if you are not religious”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2013

Corcovado is one of the most iconic sites in the world. It also offers insane views of Rio and the cool factor is high. We had planned to go first thing in the morning to avoid the hottest part of the day, but the line was so long (it was during Carnaval), that we ended up being there in the hottest part of the day (and photos that could have been so much better with better lighting!). After we waited for 45 minutes in line to buy tickets, our tram did not leave for another 2 hours. So, it was scorching hot, very crowded, no shade, and terrible lighting... but I still rated it 4 stars, so that means you must go! It is a special place but you don't need too much time up there.

“Bracos abertos!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2013

I've been to Corcovado many times with different people and every time there I feel like I'm dreaming. The view from there is breathtaking and awe-inspiring. I wish I could be there when nobody else were and the only sound to hear was the sound of silence.

“get there”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2013

the place has a view that justify been called one of the new wonders of the world, but to get there is a disaster.
you cannot go by car, unless you want to end up like the Germans who tried,if you try to go on the nice way via the train than no official parking, or parking near by.
you could have to park by street " franelinha" around 25 €.
on a normal day I had to wait 3 hours and 20 to go up, there is nothing to do near to kill time.
I went to visit a club of football near by to pass time "Fluminense F.C"
the way up in the train some very nice view, but the station are dirty and not finish, no info in the train about what you are seen, still long way to turn it into a nice attraction to use.
the place there is nice and clean, but no organization to leave and lines has no control, the stronger gets first.
over all the place is nice, but during the world cup of will be a invitation to chaos.
