“Good location! Relatively cheap stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2014

This isn't the perfect hotel, but unless you're staying at Copacabana Palace everywhere else is a disappointment. It is a budget hotel but the breakfast buffet is decent with plenty of fresh fruit etc, and everywhere is walkable or a short taxi ride away. This was convenient especially if you need to go out to the supermarket or to an ATM machine as Santander and HSBC are closeby. It feels safe wondering around the area too. Staff were very kind and helpful. Room was clean. A/C doesn't stay on all the time unless you have the key card in but it was okay. Shower wasn't fantastic but it was fine for 2 nights. This hotel was alot cheaper than other 3* so I have to rate it on that.

Rio de Janeiro tends to be hot and muggy so you depend on your air conditioning to stay cool. The unit in our smallish room tried real hard judging by the racket it made but it just could not do the job of adequate cooling. Combined with an uncomfortable bed made for fitful sleep. Otherwise all is well at this out of the way hotel in Copacabana. Uniformed staff, English spoken at recepção, great breakfast and a beautiful roof top swimming pool for rest and relaxation.

We stayed four nights. We had wifi in our clean and comfortable room. The decor was a bit dated but the beds were comfortable . A generous breakfast sustained us through the day, and the beach and any number of restaurants were within 3 or 4 blocks.

Stayed there for 3 nights , location is fine , 10 min walk from CC beach , rate was not cheap having in mind it was in Jan high season , but overall experience was fine.

Breakfast was nice and various , it had a nice cosy pool at the roof top. room size is fine , bathroom was clean. housekeeping service consistent.

Only issues was with the very small elevator that takes ages to be called , which i felt was a bit dangerous from a maintenance stand point.

WIFI was also slow and cutting off very often ....

Three of us stayed at the Majestic over New Years, Dec,13-Jan14 for 5 nights while on a one month trip around South America. The staff here were exceptionally helpful, the breakfast's were a hightlight and overall we were very happy staying here. Although it is about 5 blocks from the beach, it is in a good location and was the cornerstone for a real enjoyable stay in Rio. Big thumbs up.

This is a good hotel to stay in terms of price/value. The rooms are narrow but cozy, with a nice bathroom, which has, a glassed in shower, and a baday. For site seers, the hotel provides connection to a tour bus service, which takes passengers through the city's attractions and sites, such as, Maracana Stadium, and Cristo Renator. The bus conveniently picks up tourists at Majestic Rio Palace. For relaxation and recreation, there is a swimming pool, exercise room, sauna, and lounge atop the roof where you may view across Copacabana to the coast. The beach is a 10 minute walk from here; not bad if you would like to experience Copacabana's inner workings and local lifestyle.
