We stayed there 4 D/4N. A palace it is not, unless it is a Brazilian norm to name its hotels such.
Fantastic location along the Copacabana Beach. Hotel was near enough to the Ipanema Beach, so we can walk there for lunch. Many food outlets nearby within walking distance.
Our room was on the 10th floor, so we had a very good view of the stretch of Copacabana Beach. Really good photo ops with telephoto lens.
One morning we saw a marathon and parade along Avenida Atlantica.
Room spacious, with room safe and tv.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast included, generous spread but limited variety. If you like breads you will enjoy the b/f.
Bedroom floor not carpeted; it was tiled and cold. Reminded me of holiday chalet floors, felt gritty all the time. I suppose the hotel expect guests to be walking into the room all wet and full of sand after swimming in the ocean, hence the non carpeted floor ?
Not provided are bottled water, disposable bedroom slippers, and facial tissues.
Constant noise in the day or hum in the night from the street below; but you get used to it after a while.
Ask for a beach view room; it will cost more but definitely worth it. Higher floor better.
