“Well located by Copacabana beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago

Booked as part of a Trailfinders tour this hotel proved to be a good place to stay in Rio. The service was good . The room and beds were large and it did the job - althoughit could do with an small update and touch up - the aircon was loud!. A GOOD choice of breakfast, probably the best of our trip. Work was being done on the top floors when we stayed , i think the Windsor group have just taken over so i expect the standard to edge upwards. I would stay again!

Room Tip: Always good to have a sea view!

The hotel has some great views, overlooking the beach and even a view of the Corcovado on higher levels. I was upgraded to a suite, which was extremely large. However, the rooms were smoking and pretty stuffy once the windows were closed. The wifi was off and on, and only worked around 10% of time. The lobby wifi worked well, but not very much space or privacy.

We stayed in the Windsor Leme on Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro for three days . Our room was nice, the breakfast was awesome, the front desk very attentive, and the security was unparalleled. Rio can be a little daunting. They tell you to wear no jewelry on the street, carry money, passports, and valuables under your clothes or in your hotel safe. We followed that advice and had no problems. We noticed the hotel always at least one doorman and in the evenings two, to greet you as you enter the hotel. When you get even close they are keeping and eye out. We went to a Samba show (which we booked through the hotel) and returned after midnight with no problems. There was no separate bar, but they were always willing to prepare drinks for us in the dining room, which is completely glass with a wonderful view of the beach. We had to call for maintenance once when our stool overflowed and they were at our room within 5 minutes with everything fixed and re-cleaned in no time.

Rio was amazing, as was the hotel and its location, most of the staff were incredibly professional. But my experience was let down by one of the staff members - Irelen. Unfortunately he didn't speak English as well as some of the other staff, and compounded this by rudeness - which made the front desk interaction unpleasant. But otherwise a great experience.

Good location with excellent breakfast. Loan of towels and parasol for the Copacabana beach. Roof deck pool next year. Good selection of foods for breakfast in the buffet. Only slight disappointment was the omelette

Room Tip: Overlooking Copacaban Beach

This must be one of the best buys and best located hotels along the Copacabana beach area. We had a room with an amazing view of Leme beach, and Leme is a perfect place to stay because it is within walking distance of the busier and more crowded Copacabana but has a lovely beach in its own right. The room was large. The breakfast is good. The staff is extremely helpful and gracious. The wifi, which is free, had good reception most of the time. The one major problem right now is the construction. They are adding a pool and bar area on the rooftop, and construction begins early in the morning and lasts all day. Our room, which was on the 11th floor, often shook during the day when the jackhammers were working. In fact, they let me use a room on the third floor to take a conference call one day because I couldn't hear from our room. A few drawbacks: there is no comfortable place to sit and relax outside one's room. That should be fixed when the construction is completed. Another small thing was that espresso was additional for breakfast, which in Rio seems silly. Altogether, however, a good place to stay in Rio.

Room Tip: Ask for room with sea views, but also ask about noise from construction.

I stayed there over the weekend and had arguably one on the best times of my life . First the staff was great. Marcus and Caroline especially. Second I had a beach view in room 1305. Awesome. The only issue was the construction during the day on the roof. Great free breakfast. You can't beat this location. There is a Ox fitness center one block away. The hotel also provides free umbrellas for the beach. Av Atlantica is great along with Av. Nossa Senhora de Copacabana one block behind. Very safe area. Never felt threatened. Looking forward to the rooftop pool and bar when complete
