Really pleased with this hotel, located in the middle of Copacabana and Ipanema, everything is easily within walking distance.
Per Night cost: For 3 people in a single room was $100 usd per night, which includes breakfast.
Room Service: Room has a refrigerator with some drinks and some snacks on the shelf for purchase. There is a menu for room service and it is very reasonable...like $2 usd for a beer or snack and $7-8 for a meal.
Laundry: Cleaning clothes was my challenge in Rio, the hotel service is kind of costly...there is a Laundromat on Rua Farme which was reasonable by the basket.
The Breakfast: Buffet style with typical Brazilian breads, scrambled eggs, sausage, cereal, coffee and a variety of different juices.
Hotel Bathroom: Granite and tile with glass enclosed shower, very clean, plenty of hot water. Only complimentary soap is provided. Towels are clean but kind of thin.
Hotel TV: Plenty of international stations, US and UK with Portuguese subtitles.
Internet: The lobby has two computers for guests, you have to purchase a card for $10 USD which gives you 2 hours of use. My room didn’t have internet service.
Phone: You will be charged for every call even if it’s local so just be aware.
Hotel Room: Cleaned daily, sheets smelled very fresh.
Hotel Roof Deck: Appears to be recently renovated, very modern and sleak gray granite tile with white furniture. There is a whirl pool which spills into a small swimming pool. There is a sauna and a rooftop bar. Hotel is one of the taller buildings in the area so you can get a nice view of the city and the beach.
Hotel Staff: Many English speaking front desk staff, everyone I came in contact with was very kind and welcoming. Front desk staff readily provided suggestions and assistance when I needed it.
Overall Impression: This is not a 5 star hotel in looks but it is clean and friendly. I felt taken care of by the staff which goes a long way. I would stay here again without question.
Lastly: The hotel recommended a taxi driver who lives next door to the hotel, in fact his wife works at the hotel. Anderson is his name and he is very honest, he charged around $30 usd to pick me up at the airport and I liked him so much that I only called him when I wanted to go places. He parks in front of the hotel so he is easy to find.
