I was in Rio for work purposes on Aug/06. I stayed at the Caesar Park Ipanema. The hotel is very good. The view from the restaurant on the top floor is magnificent. The staff is friendly. Unfortunately, I have to say I am very dissapointed that my credit card number was stolen at the hotel. A month after I returned home, I noticed a couple of charges were being done to my credit card from Brazil. Obviously I canceled my card, went through the hassle to make sure my credit card company didn't charge me those fraudulent expenses and got a new card. Anyway, I know the credit card number was taken from someone in the hotel because this is the only place where I used my card in Rio. I sent an email to the management company (Posadas) expecting to receive an apology for the incident. To this day, I haven't heard from them. Next time, I'll stay at Copacabana. Finally, I must say, Rio de Janeiro is a beautiful place.

stayed here for 4 nights in late November, good room though A/C a little noisy, great location. well equipped granite bathroom.We found the reception and concierge staff to be very helpful and efficient despite previous reviews. We were on a room only package but ate breakfast there. The breakfast on offer is hugely expensive but looked reasonable. The head waiter did not volunteer that there is a menu but she produced one when I asked.We had a basket of bread and pastries between the two of us. The quality was excellent and there was more than enough. It was a quarter of the price of the buffet breakfast.
We did not eat at the hotel- if you want a really good fish restaurant go to Satyricon which is close by and easily walkable.
We had a pleasant stay and would go there again- just be wary of breakfast!

I stayed at Ceaser Park from November 11 to Nov 15 and had a great time. I was there for work but staying at Ceaser Park Ipanema made it feel like a vacation. The location is fantastic. Ipanema is the greatest place in Rio. There are lots of shops and restaurants very close to the hotel and the beach is just in front of the hotels (you need to cross the road and then miles and miles of beach)
The view of the terrace restaurant is breathtaking. The gym is very nice too. The hotel was recently renovated and feels luxurious. The staff is very responsive and considerate. I travel a lot for work and this was one of the best hotels that I stayed at.

Breakfast $20, laundry $200, internet access $30 for 24 hours , all were a rip off, very expensive.
When I spoke to the front desk about the cost of your services she could not comment except refer to the price list, so obviously it is hotel policy to fleece the traveller who does not check the details of prices
The swimming pool on the roof looked so good in the picture gallery.
The photographer should be up for an award.
The pool is tiny, no bigger than a hot tub.
The views from the roof were great, just don’t have breakfast!

The room needed refurbishing, the decor was very dated.
The bed was not up to the standard of sofitel.
The service was good one minute, bad the next.
When we were checking out, I called to have my bill made up, a porter to collect the bags, and a taxi for 10 minutes time,
none of these things happened, ! had to ask 3 times.
The concererge was very helpful.
I prefer the sofitel and will be going there in future.
