We arrived very early for check in after a cruise. Our room wasn't ready (we didn't expect it to be). We were given a glass of champagne while we waited in the comfortable lobby. We asked the front desk staff to make some restaurant suggestions and reservations for us while we waited, and they cheerfully helped us. Our room was very clean, the bed was very comfortable and we had a view of Copacabana beach from our balcony. The breakfast buffet was huge with everything imaginable on it - eggs and hot breakfast items were available for the asking. The only drawback was that the floors in the rooms and halls are tile and guests with heels on, walking on the floor above us and in the hall could be heard. The location is good, although Copacabana Beach isn't the safest (Ipanema or Leblon is safer). The rooftop pool is beautiful. and the workout room is good. All of the staff was great!

I was there with my wife & 2 kids - ages 7 & 8 yrs. Truly outstanding service. Hospitality at it's best !.

We loved this hotel. It was the first place we stayed in Rio and it was the most comfortable for sure. It was clean and stylish. The front desk was VERY helpful - they recommended a restaurant where I had maybe one of the best meals of my life - Satyricon in Impanema.

The pool on the roof was beautiful - at sunset we saw corcavado with a view unmatched around the city.

Really wonderful place and I would stay again without hesitation.

We stayed at Porto Bay for our honeymoon and were greeted in the foyer with champagne on arrival and complementary sandals which was a nice surprise.
Our view was magnificent and the balcony looked down the length of the Copacobana beach and also of Cristo Redentor.
The room was beautifully clean and a great room allround. The reception area staff were helpful and offered good advise.
Make sure you stick to the restaurants on the main beach street at night time where it is very safe due to all the main hotels being located on that street.
Also the complementary beach chairs and towels directly opposite the hotel on the beach was a great touch.
Breakfast buffet was fantastic and the "News of the World" of your country (Australia) under the door each morning was a great tough. The rooftop bar and pool is also a highlight.
Great hotel all round. Highly recommended!
