Unique experience first walking in. The closest equivalent i could think of in NYC to describe this place is Webter Hall. However, Rio Scenarium had so much more to offer than just multiple floors of dancing. No tourist trap either! The place was packed with locals the night we visited.
It's set in a colonial house, with 4-5 floors but with there is a shaft reuniting them all where you can look down on the band playing. The decor itself is worth checking the place out. Many walls were harboring beautiful collections of antiques .
We were recommended to come in early so we got to experience all the live bossa nova and samba music. There were people of all ages (15-70s) enjoying themselves. We did not need to make any reservation only paid for our tickets (don't lose it, you need it at the end to pay and get out). Can't comment on the food, we were told to eat elsewhere before coming in
Overall this a unique, great experience.
