“Beautiful views away from the crowds”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2013 via mobile

A great way to spend an afternoon is heading to the lake and catacumba park (about a 15 minute walk from the middle of copacabana) - you can walk or cycle around the lake or hire peddle boats, and there is also a park for the kids. Then catacomba park is good for all ages, whether you want adventure or just a nice walk.

Entrance is free but the activities aren't - we have them a miss but I think it was 30RL for the canopy adventure (which did look really cool) 20 for the climbing wall and 20 for the zip wires, or 50 all in. But it was worth going just for the walk, which took you on an uphill forest trail with lots of information boards (in English and Portuguese), with stops along the way to rest and eye the views. Thend the views from the top were wonderful,! Overlooked the beach, city, Lake and ocean, it was beautiful. Plus what I would say sells it most was that it was so quiet up there unlike the tourist hotshots. We ended up doing this instead of sugar loaf as it was free and we had the view to ourselves! Good place for a picnic or Sunset

“Great for Family and Adventures People”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2013

Great spot for couple fun hours around Lagoa. This park that used to be an Old Slam (favela) became a ridden little treasure. If you are planning to hang around the Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas and are with kids or like adventures, you should stop by. With 2 tree rope courses (one for adults, one for small kids), zipline, climbing wall and rappel.

“Wonderful view”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2013

You can't miss the track that go all the way up to the summit of the Sacopã rock. It has a amazing view of the lagoon, the "Dois Irmãos", the Gavea peak, Corcovado and many other mountains of the Rio de Janeiro skyline.
The track is well signed and has informations about the history of the lagoon both in Portuguese and English. It is a great opportunity to learn about Rio's history and enjoy a wonderful view.

“Great walk Great View”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2013

It is a pleasnt 20-35min walk up to the top of the hill, great to take kids and family. A great option for spending an afternoon then going down to the lagoon for a bite to eat and maybe a trip to the middle of the lagoon in one of the swan shaped boats they have for rent. There are quite a few options in buses to get there check your options depending where your staying, the main references are the name of the park, the Pedalinho da Lagoa(swan boats) and Corte do Cantagallo(the access street from copacabana).

“Nice walk and nice view”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2013

Park is just next to Lagoa, a little walk from Ipanema or Copacabana beach. To get to the park you have to cross the bridge. Park is open until 5pm but they don`t let you walk up after 4pm. However if you are fit walking up does not take more then 10 minutes. There is 2 viewpoints, one with view to Lagoa and another with wooden platform with the view to.. Lagoa also:) But also to Christ and Parque Lage. We did picnic up there, it was great.
