“Great Service that Makes a Difference!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2014

We arrived in Rio after a long trip and were disappointed we only had single beds. However after a chat with the Manager all was quickly solved - this was just one example of the quality service. The front desk were really helpful and all the staff great at this family friendly Hotel. The location is away from some "must go to sights" but agree with other reviewers that transport links close and taxis relatively cheap. Thanks for a great stay!

No near Copacabana but then not all hotels are and this is a safe area with a good atmosphere. Ideal for the metro and trips to Cristo Redentor. Not sure why the restaurant has to be shrouded behind vast curtains which hardly makes it welcoming and presumably why few people eat in what is a good restaurant. Some more useful information about the hotel and Rio would be nice for the guests but unfortunately in Brazil is seems giving information before asking for it is not the norm.

Compare to other hotels in Rio, you can name this hotel as 4 star but in fact it's a real 3 star hotel. The bad thing for this accommodation is long distance to Copocabana beach. But the good thing is very close distance to some public buses that take care of transportation to Corcovado.
Some staffs can speak few English words.

Room Tip: We had 2 rooms 809 and 801 in this hotelalmost in the same condition.

Just come back from Brazil after spending the last 5 nights in Rio for the World Cup:

Pros:
Location is great as there is a metro near by: Largo Do Marchado, so this saves time moving around when the traffix is busy. Taxi to Copacabana/Lappa/Sugar Loaf 15-20real in a taxi (or less)
Can get in the same square fully inclusive trips to Christo Redeemer (51real peak) (best time to go is 8am on a clear day, you'll be back by 12)
Roof view good
Friendly staff and able to speak English if needed
Call taxis for you

Cons:
Breakfast included is ok, large choice but not that appetising (based on 4 peoples view over 5 days), e.g fried eggs can be cold and fresh hot scrambled eggs mixed in with what was already there.
Some darker streets nearby by, so not best to go out of the hotel and turn right late at night. The square is to the left and has a shopping centre, pharmcies, restaurant bars etc...

Room Tip: Ask for one that allows you to see Christ the Redeemer.

Very reasonable priced hotel in a lively and busy neighborhood. Conveniently located near a metro stop. Don't even dream of taking the metro around 18.00, it is too busy. Very friendly and helpful staff. Far from glitzy Copacabana and Ipanema, Flamengo is the place to be. Good restaurants nearby. From the terrace you get a view Very good view of the christ @ Corcovado.

This hotel is good, I was here two weeks and people are very friendly. I think is not the price that they charge. the rooms have two beds small I did not fit in them. If you're 6.11 " dont try it. it have some havespme trouble with the wifi. well located hotel with access to the metro to move anywhere within the rio. i recomend this hotel.
