“Good traditional boteco”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013 via mobile

Traditional Brazilian food (the menu is ridiculously long) in a traditional setting (but not stuffy) with excellent service. Open till very very late (6am) it's also a very popular joint for drinks, with guests spilling out onto the pavement, drinking and chatting away. The caldinho de feijao was memorable. In fact, I'll go back for lunch today just for that before flying back home tonight.

“Great Fun. Traditional Brazilian Boteco”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2013

Very hard not to strike up a conversation with the locals who mainly seem to be artists and writers, all definitely drinkers in the best sense. The bar snacks are very good traditional Brazilian fare and obviously the chope is near freezing and delicious. Great way to learn some Carioca cultural history from the man at the next table who then insisted on buying us beer..What a great place!

“Boteco, not bar!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2013

Jobi is the translation of Boteco (not a bar)
Always packed with a enormous variety of people, from politicians to workers.
It is a place to enjoy carioca's way of life. Bermuda, t-shirts, loud conversations, little room to move around
But the combination of draft beer (please, use the right word: chope, the Portuguese name for it. Not chopp) and the amazing finger foods, some of then not in the menu, is paradise's main entrance. Do not leave rio without stoping by. Mean it
