“Amazing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2012

Best Thai food I've ever had. Really. The staff spoke only Portuguese, but the owner speaks German and English as well, in case you need assistance with the menu. This was some of the most carefully prepared Thai food I've had, with a little Brazilian flare.

“One of the highlights of my trip to Paraty”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2012

The restaurant is brightly decorated, and is designed with an open kitchen. The open kitchen works really well, because the kitchen team (of about 5 when we were there on a Friday night) clearly enjoy their work, and are cheerful, and bustling about without any of the language, shouting or pressure you might have come to expect from some of the TV shows about celebrity chefs! The menu is concise and easy to navigate, with some excellent dishes - the Red Prawn Curry served in the pineapple was tasty and fresh, and we were given a choice of how hot we wanted every dish - just remember that a Brazilian usually thinks black pepper is too 'spicy' so don't be afraid to ask for hot if you want it hot. Our table also tried the green papaya salad, and the Tom Yam soup - both starters we all enjoyed.

The service was great - friendly, fun and efficient, and personal. Paraty is a tourist destination, but we were made to feel like it was somewhere the restaurant valued us as potential repeat business. This marks it out as special in an otherwise tourist town. Pricing was very reasonable too - I will go back here when I am next in Paraty.

“a great surprise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2012

German owner, cooking Thai food, in Brazil? It sounds crazy but it works. The menu is reassuringly small and has all the staples. Definitely try the green papaya salad - I'm dying to figure out what the secret sauce is that makes the dish so special. Take a few minutes to appreciate the decor too - the owner makes it all herself.

“Wonderfull thay food with brazilian twist”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2012

I really loved this place, can be a bit hard to find but you have to try. it has only one door to a corridor that goes to a central courtyard - don't miss it.
The staff is very friendly, they have few dishes but all very good and you have to try the desert with sweet rice and mango!!

“Somewhat strange place”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2012 via mobile

The food was mostly very good. But the decor was very strange, and lacking in both Brazilian and Thai authenticity. It was also expensive compared with other restaurants in Paraty.
