This ‘pousada’ is idyllic. The detached, private bungalows sit within a stunning garden, with beautiful flowers and an outdoor pool. The location is great, a short walk to the marina and centre of Paraty. We were made to feel really welcome by Stela, the owner, who is warm, friendly and makes you feel at home. The breakfast is wonderful, full of trpoical fuit. Stela gave us great suggestions of things to do and we had lots of fun chatting to her. I would recommend this to anyone and can’t wait to return! Thanks Stela.

For sure the most precious place to stay in Paraty. Miss Stella is a fantastic host.

On our last trip to Brazil, two friends insisted we went to Paraty with them to a Pousada that they had heard to be excellent.
AND IT IS EXCELLENT, not only its location but the facilities, the service and the friendliness of the Hostess Stella, who will make your stay there even more memorable with her sweet stories, kindness and suggestions.
It is really a place to go and enjoy.
She will really make you feel at home - and in the afternoon, she will play some nice jazz/blues on her player while you enjoy a nice and warm swim!!!

If you are in love, if you love nature, and if you enjoy being in a beautifully decorated room, you have found what you are looking for!

>Thank you Stella for making our days there memorable!

Maris Paraty has two bungalows set in a lovely, peaceful garden with a pool and private patios. It feels like an oasis. Our hostess, Stella was fantastic and helped us organise two brilliant tours and a transfer to Rio airport. She even went out of her way to provide tea and toast to my mother, who was unfortunately ill when we arrived. We, being healthy, were taught how to make caipirinhas!

Breakfast is a great selection of fruits, juice, cereal, breads, yoghurt, eggs, ham and cheese, inkeeping with Brazilian breakfasts and served on your private patio.

It's a 10 minute walk along the picturesque canal into the historic centre.

The rooms are extremely comfortable with a great double bed and lovely kitchenette area. Stella even has a sizeable DVD collection you can watch on the LCD screen in front of the bed.

We loved it and were very sad to leave. Enjoy!

Just a perfect escape for your trip to Paraty. From beginning to end. Getting there by car is pretty easy without the bumpy roads of historic Paraty. You have private and secure parking in the interior of the property. Then you have Stela, the landlady, who warmly welcomes you and offers you any support during your entire stay you would normally only find in a 5 star hotel. There are only two bungalows, both very modern and stylish, in a tropical and calm environment. I didn't see anything comparable in Brazil yet and I strongly doubt it would be easy to find. Also when it comes to cleanliness you literally could eat on the floor. The beds are king size and very comfortable. We didn't check the pool, however it's truly big enough for all guests. Our toddler enjoyed the garden, the hammock on our veranda, the available DVD collection, but primarily Stela's cookies. Besides all the highlights, the biggest might be the personal breakfast delivered to our bungalow. This was by far the best breakfast I ever got served in any hotel I ever stayed. Thanks for having had us, Stela!

I spent the weekend in Paraty with my boyfriend and two foreign friends in Oct 2011, and we stayed at Maris Paraty. Rooms are comfortable and clean, and furniture and appliances are brand new (each room has its own kitchen as well). The silent air conditioner is also a plus. Breakfast was amazing with fresh fruits and juices, eggs and homemade yogurt. The owner gave us a lot of support when choosing restaurants, and while planning our day activities and boat trips, as she new the area very well and spoke very good English.

Room Tip: There are only two rooms and they are just the same.

Definitely the best hostel I've ever been. The bungalows are the perfect size, everything very clean and elegant. The service is impeccable and the outside area with garden and pool is wonderful!
