“great staff but needs complete refurbishment.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2011

We stayed here last weekend. The sheets and towels had been washed but were stained. The room and bathroom was damp and mouldy. The windows did not close properly. I woke up covered in bites and not sure if mosquitos or bed bugs. The staff were very helpful and it is right on the beach but really needs a thorough clean and re decorating.

We stayed in a twelve bed dorm for $29 reais each per night. This was two six bed rooms with one bathroom between everyone. Bathroom was not great, toilet leaked when flushed, floor always wet and dirty, nowhere to hang towel/clothes. Rooms had no a/c, just a big fan in each, pretty noisy. No filtered water available either, had to buy bottles. Staff were friendly, the bar is cheap and they do good cheap dinner/ BBQ each night, great if you're on a tight budget. Overall not bad but they could easily improve it with a few changes.

Very well run place. Quiet after 11ish which was great, cleaned each day, great breakfast buffet with toasted sandwich machine, and wonderful, friendly staff who would sort anything for you and run different events each eve if you wanted in. I loved the CaipiriVodkas and Argentinian Beach Barbeque.

This hostel is the perfect chill out place in a great little village. Staff are very friendly and helpful in orgainising whatever you want to do. We had an ensuite double that was very roomy. The front outside area has couches and hammocks to lazy away in along with a night time bar and music all day. The area is also under cover (handy for rainy day wifi-ing). The best part about this hostel that separates it from most is that every night it has a special meal prepared by the local chef and these meals were fantastic and very reasonably priced (10-15BRL). Location is right opposite the beach and only a short walk to the very interesting historical part of Paraty.

this hostel is ideally located, right in front of the beach at two steps from town, breakfast was fantastic... the staff were super helpfull and friendly. They offer tours, meals, nice little bar, ... good beds too. All in all a great stay. And also very cheap....

smooth response when trying to book, and they came to pick me up at the bus station. Can't ask for more.
