“Amazing!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2012

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for 4 nights and had such a good time. The pousada was clean, good price, room had a fridge and air conditioner, good shower, in a great location, quiet at night, secure, really good breakfast, and the staff were so helpful! The woman and her husband that were looking after the place gave us great advice and tips about what to do and where to go on the island. We will definitely come back to stay here when we return to ilha grande and would recommend it to anyone going there!

Stayed 3 nights and rooms comfortable, but no aircon, just a fan.
However, evenings are cool, so this isn't much of a problem.
Free wifi, but service is patchy.
Breakfast is only $6 Rials and not bad, but you need to put your name down the night before.
It also has a little balcony to have a few drinks and it is a short walk to the beach and main shops.

Rather rude staff, they seemed to be more concerned with their Facebook accounts and preparing for a party with friends than with welcoming the guests. "Here is the key" was basically the extent of the welcome, even though we were apparently the only guests staying there upon our arrival. Breakfast was very very basic on the first day, though a bit better (bigger selection of fruits and some bread) on the second day when more guests checked in. There were some very unwelcome 'bathroom smells' in the breakfast room when people upstairs flushed their toilet. The room had a slightly 'mouldy' smell, even the towels before even being used. The bathroom was very tiny and getting any water in the sink or getting the toilet to flush was a struggle.

Not a bad pousada at all. For us it was about a 10min walk from the ferry, but if you're a little less mobile it might take you longer (all flat though). The breakfasts were good, with the standard selection of bread, cheese, ham, fruits and some remarkably tasty cakes. The rooms are small but not restrictive, similar to the ensuite. Two main criticism we had were: 1) The bed was smallish (I'm about 6ft) and the sheets were very small, causing them to come out and bunch up during the night; and 2) There was the odd flea in the bedding and the cleanliness of the floor left a lot to be desired. Service was good and the people were friendly. They have some great dogs as pets! Security was not very good, but they do provide a safe in the room (bring your own padlock).
