“great way to conclude trip to Brazil”

My wife and I spent the last two nights of our honeymoon here and highly recommend it. As others have mentioned Debbie and Luis are terrific hosts and do everything they can to make you enjoy your stay – providing snacks and drinks when you arrive; recommending beaches, restaurants, bars and other things to do around town; calling cabs; arranging transportation to and from Rio; etc. Breakfast was great and the first course, fruit, was served within a few minutes of sitting down. Debbie said there was another couple staying there but we never saw them and it seemed like we had the place to ourselves. The weather wasn’t great the last day we were there but the place is nice enough that you won’t mind lounging around the deck or looking out at the water from your own patio.

The only warnings I would have is that it isn’t within walking distance of town, but on the flipside you get a great deal of privacy that you might not have elsewhere and a cab will show up to pick you up for the five minute ride into town within ten minutes of calling. Also, if you want to leave the windows open at night, make sure to bring bug spray. We each had several mosquito bites, but I’m sure that is true no matter where you stay. We saw a few ants in the bathroom and when we told them they immediately took care of it, which was very nice.

After four fun and adventurous days in Rio, it was wonderful to relax in Buzios at Villa Bambuti before heading home. I would love to return one day.

“By Far, the highlight of our trip to Brazil”

This review is long overdue, and I feel that ashamed for not writing sooner.
Villa Bambuti was, by far, the highlight of our honeymoon to Brazil. Debbie and Luis welcomed us from the very beginning and even welcomed us back when we had an awful time in Rio(long story).
Their hospitality started when our plane arrived in Rio 7 hours late. Their driver, Antonio, was waiting there with the sign with our names on it. We apologized for being late and he smiled and said no problem.
When we arrived at Villa Bambuti, Debbie and Luis were waiting for us and offered us a drink while they took our bags to the room. What a perfect start. They then recommended a really great restaurant for us to eat downtown and called us a cab.
The next morning, we woke to the most beautiful breakfast consisting of fresh yogurt, juice, bread, granola, fruit and a quiche, as well as coffee. They recommended some things to do while we were there, and they were all a success.
The best part of this wonderful place was that the following day, we left for Rio in what was supposed to be a 5 day stay near copacabana beach. After a day and a half in Rio, we wanted to come back to Buzios. We called Debbie and she said that there was plenty of room for us if we wanted to come back. It was the best decision that we made. We left Rio and returned to Buzios for another 3 days.
During those three days we relaxed near the pool, enjoyed the beautiful room, hung out with Debbie and Luis and their friends, and just had a perfect time.
We cannot thank them enough for making this part of our honeymoon so special. They even had a bottle of wine waiting for us one night upon our return from town. We really feel that we made new friends on our trip.
If you have the chance, this is the place to go. You will enjoy every minute.

First, an apology is in order. My wife and I stayed three nights at the WONDERFUL Villa Bambuti in December during an extensive trip to South America. We were especially charmed by our hosts Debbie and Luis (and Zulu their German Shepard, of course). And yet I have neglected until this moment to write up my review on TripAdvisor; this is particularly shameful because I only knew of the hotel due to the efforts of other TripAdvisor members (who consistently rank Villa Bambuti number one in the area). My delay in writing, however, has a positive side: the time elapsed has only burnished our appreciation for this magical spot and all that Debbie and Luis did to make us feel at home. We really were that impressed, no kidding! If you go to Buzios (which is a lovely and lively place, by the way, even though the weather was a bit gloomy when we were there), make every effort to stay at Villa Bambuti. The only thing you'll regret is if you fail to share your good fortune with others by writing your own TripAdvisor review when you return.

We were traveling through Brazil and wanted a few days of relaxations. Staying at Villa Bambuti certainly makes you relax. The comfort and beauty of the Villa was fantastic, but what really made our stay special was the hospitality of Debbie & Luis and their loving dog, Zulu. From our first breakfast (which is extremely delicious) we felt like Debbie & Luis were old friends. They helped us with things to do in Buzios and arranging taxis. We socialize with a drink in the evening with Debbie & Luis and had wonderful conversations along with playing with Zulu. Another special thing was we needed transportation to and from Rio airport, and we hired Villa Bambuti driver, Antonio. Antonio was also amazing. When Antonio was to pick us up at the airport our flight was over 1 1/2 hrs late and then it took another 1 hour to get our luggage. We thought Antonio would not be there, but there he was waiting with the sign of our names. Then when we returned to Rio airport, Antonio took us on a little tour of Rio and he waited for us as we did some site-seeing. Buzios is a beautiful place and staying at the Villa Bambuti was a fabulous experience. We would highly recommend you staying here.

“A great place”

Villa Bambuti

I stayed here with my girlfriend at the end of April 2007. The place was really nice. The owners, Debbie and Luiz, really made a great effort to make sure that everything was perfect.

The rooms were nice, and the bathrooms were clean. Each room had nice space with TV. In the morning, there was a terrific breakfast with a lot food served in sequence.

The place was a little outside of the downtown area, but as soon as we called a taxi, they were there in 5-8 minutes to take us downtown (10 Reals--$5 (US) per trip). We enjoyed being away from the dog barking and yelling of the downtown area. Everything was peaceful and romantic at all times.

Debbie and Luiz really love the place, and they make their guest believe that they really care. When it started to rain outside one day for breakfast, they immediately moved our stuff inside to continue with a great breakfast.

I can fully understand why this site rates this hotel at the top. The cost is reasonable, and the experience is beyond your normal expectations.
