We stayed here largely on the strength of reviews on this site, most of which were overwhelmingly positive. This is the most disappointing hotel I have ever stayed in and believe that they are missing a trick because the location is superb. Aside from one or two helpful front dest staff and great views off the deck there is not much to recommend. The suite was overpriced, and completely under-equipped. The 5-star price won’t get you 5 star luxury. Stay somewhere else and have drinks or dinner at Casas Brancas to enjoy the best of it.

Though the hotel has a lot of attitude to say the least our stay was great. Big brother is watching you! Buzios is a real pearl and an amazing place. The town is beautiful and though they compare themselves to Saint Tropez I think Buzios is much nicer.

The hotel has one really great thing going for it..... its location perched on the hill at the end of the promenade with incredible views...nothing can compare. The rooms are clean simple trendy but bordering on Ikea specials, but it seems to work. I would advise anyone to get a sea-view room and avoid suites; they are not suites but just slightly larger rooms and not worth the extra cost. Some of the staff are really great... especially the girls at night. The daytime pool staff would much rather be doing something else. Despite anything negative that I have said there is really no other place to stay but here. The noise of the nightclubs on the promenade do drift a little.

This was one of the most disappointing hotels we have ever stayed in. We were on our honey moon so upgraded to a suite which was not cheap. It was like a ww2 bunker, with no sunlight, damp and smelly drains. The shower even had a soap dispenser on the wall like in a public loo. The only decent thing about the hotel was the terrace - the hotel is very much living off an old reputation, and putting no effort into maintaining any kind of level of service. We told the reception staff we were unhappy but we were told there was nothing they could do - no mention of us seeing a manager or anyone to help appease us - in fact, not even sure the hotel has a manager! I would suggest finding somewhere else to enjoy your time in Buzios. This is one over rated boutique hotel really not worth the trouble. It is the first time I have ever felt strongly enough to write a review on Trip Advisor.

Casas Brancas is a beautiful hotel. It is both luxurious and charming, with immense character. The sea view rooms have a fantastic outlook onto the bay. My partner and I arrived with a bad experience because of the taxi driver and the staff put us at ease immediately. We were offered champagne and a free massage upon arrival. The young male staff members were particularly friendly and I think they should be very valued employees (I wouldn't be surprised if they're family members of the owners).

I ate in the pool side cafe for breakfast and lunch and the meals were very fresh and delicious. The sunset from the pool deck is beautiful. The pool is small. Unfortunately they do not provide WiFi access, although there is internet access provided in the lobby. Also, the pizzas at the Deck restaurant are more like home-made pizzas than the real deal. A better pizza can be had at Capricciosa down the road. The location of the hotel is perfect, although there is a bit of noise in the rooms during the night because of the nightclub a few doors down, but it is not too bad.

One strange experience I had here was that upon checkout we were given the credit card machine before any of the charges were explained to us. I had to ask to see what we were being charged, which is a bit unorthodox for a hotel.

Overall though I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again.

Casas Brancas is definitely one of the better places to stay in Buzios. With its peaceful terrace and amazing views you’ll be hard pushed to find a more relaxing location. The pousada was formerly one house but has since been converted into a four star hotel and spa. We stayed for 3 nights in February and had a very chilled stay. One thing we would stress is that a sea view room is a must, otherwise there’s not much point in staying here. I think that rooms 6, 7 and 8 all have good views. We checked in and were given a so called upgrade to a duplex suite. Unfortunately, our room faced the gardens and the sitting area upstairs (which was of no use) actually faced the sea. Not sure if the guys on reception understood term upgrade??? Anyway, the hotel concierge can organise everything for you including boat trips and of course buggy hire (it’s a lot of fun). The hotel has a spa which although not cheap, my girlfriend highly recommended. There is a pool bar and restaurant serving food and snacks during the day which doubles as a restaurant by night. Alfredo on reception was extremely charming and helpful.
We’d recommend staying here.

This little hotel has great views and is most probably in the best location in Buzios. Our room was cosy, but basic, with great views (delux with patio). Just take note, at night time it was very noisy. Room 26... the pub is just down stairs and is open all night and all the people returning from the night life passes by this room. Buzios is a typical "upmarket" holiday town, so please do not expect 5 startservice and quality, allthough the price tag might suggest that.
